My old one quit working. This is very easy to use and seems to work at all points along the fence.

I thought this flasher was broken. It was actually telling me my charger was 99% dead. I've only used it for 3-4 weeks, and now that I replaced the charger (with slightly more power to drive this flasher), the flasher is easily visible at the right angle. I think I could see it 100 feet away in daytime. Probly a half-mile at night. This indicator is perfect. Great device, good value, easy to use. LATER: sometimes it flashes at half-rate (like it misses every other flash). I have no doubt that the fence is still effective, whether the charger is missing a pulse, or the ground is too dry, or whatever. The remaining flashes are clear.

This indicator is so easy to install, just clips onto the wire and you run it's little ground rod into the soil. It's very bright and I love that I can look out my window and see it flashing day or night. I bought two for different sections of the fence, but am going to buy more. Deer ran into a section of my fence that's close to their path, but since putting one of these there, it's not happened again. My fencing runs into the woods, so will be spacing these along the back line.

My only complaint with these is one of them didn’t work. Otherwise they do what they’re meant to do. Thwy make it easy to glance out the window and see if your fence is working. Other than one in the set that didn’t work, I’m satisfied. If all 5 would have worked, I would have given five stars.

Did not work out of the box. I spent 2 days troubleshooting my electric fence. Come to find out the tester was bad. I know it's not fun but it's just easier to grab the fence and test it. Didn't waste your money.

I purchased this for a gift for a friend who has horses but knows nothing about electricity. He keeps it hanging on his fence and knows at a glance if the electric fence is working. No more horses getting out.

I purchased this for my polytape electric fence and you don't have to worry about batteries dying on it as it gets it's simply the pulse of your fence that makes it light up. Simply clip the green part with the light on it to your fence and stick the ground wire into the dirt (preferable in a place where the dirt stays damp) - it's that easy. The only negative I can see is that the grounding probe wire is a bit short, but if it's too short for you, you could pound a grounding rod into your ground and attached the wire to the grounding rod by snipping off the probe, stripping the wire back a bit and attaching that to your grounding rod. If your light is not working, then it's time to check your fence out to find out why. My mini's think they are beavers and they LOVE chewing on any wood they can reach. Thus why I've had to add a 2-3 rows of the polytape electric fence around 3 sides of their enclosure in order to keep them from eating the lodge poles used for their no-climb horse wire fencing. They respect the electric fence as long as it's active, but if they find it off, they're back to chewing the posts. With this little tester, I can easily see the little green light flashing during the day and even more so once it's dark (it's super bright at night). I recently purchased another one of these to put up on another electric fence line I have as well. Well worth the cost folks. It works!!

Really bright light, especially at night. Just one problem. I clipped this light onto my hot fence wire and accidentally touched the ground probe and got jolted! I checked voltage on my fence line without the light probe in the ground and it was 5,000 volts. With the light probe in the ground it was 3,000 volts. You’re putting voltage from your hot fence line right straight into the ground. I’m going to leave the light clipped on the fence wire and just push the ground probe into the ground every once in awhile to check for light and make sure charger is working. I don’t recommend leaving the probe in the ground.

Got my first one over a year ago and going strong in the great white north.
