This new laptop charger works great.
Here's what's good1. Recharge the battery noticeably faster with or without the laptop being on.2. The charger is grounded.3. Even with the cord wrapped around the charger the size is significantly smaller than the standard charger that came with my laptop.4. The charger doesn't get as hot as the last one I had.5. The power indicator is on the tip that plugs into the laptop making it easier to tell if the charger is plugged in from the start.6. Laptop charger also has a strap that doesn't dispatch from the charger, wrap the cord around the base of the charger and then wrap the strap around everything. Make storing and going a lot easier7. This product is a genuine Dell charger not a generic. (Some generic chargers may not work with Dell products at all)Here's what's not so good1. Compared to my last charger the cord about a foot shorter. That's about the only bad thing I see about this charger, just being a little bit shorter.Just be careful on how you handle and store the charger. Most charger malfunctions and breakdown happen as a result of poor handling and storage, for example the user wrapping the cord too tightly around the charger is one of the main causes of chargers malfunctions. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to leave me a comment below.

Don't need anymore high tech junk...
The unit arrived with the wrong AC plug type. It arrived with a European type plug, and I had to use my own. In addition, the power supply was not functional. The power indicator light did not turn on. The defect is suspected to be internal to the unit. No output voltage was measured on the output of the unit, and as determined with a digital multimeter). Therefore, there was no input voltage available to charge the laptop computer. Now I have to return it. I want a refund not a replacement. But, the company said that they are going o replace it. Now why do I need more junk if I can get one that works at a retail store. I ended up buying one at Walmart for $65 dollars. Oh well, I guess you get what you pay for. It was better to pay more for something that works. This was another peice of junk. I recommend you go to Walmart an pay more for something you know will work.

Counerfit????
Thus far, this charger is working. I seriously doubt this is an original Dell charger. It has Dell written all over it; however, I own 4 Dell original OE chargers. Side by side, this unit looks the same. However, the wire thickness/quality is different and the physical weight of the transformer is SIGNIFICANTLY different. The original OE chargers are twice the weight of this alleged Dell replacement. It appears to be a China copy to me. Highly questionable.

An excellent deal
I was a little worried about quality but this was by far the best deal I could find on a replacement cable for my Dell laptop. It arrived promptly and I was impressed, upon opening the package, on the weight and sturdiness of the cords and box. It isn't exactly like my old one (for one thing it separates into two pieces with minimal effort, which would have saved the life of its predecessor) and it doesn't seem to be exactly like the one pictured, but I DO believe it to be a genuine Dell. I've had it about a week and thus far it functions, silent and obliging, sans excessive heat, which is a blessing. In short, I have no complaints and, barring a systems failure, recommend this as an excellent and affordable replacement in a market which seems overrun by knock offs and inflated prices.

ITEM IS NOT SLIM AS DESCRIBED!
ITEM IS NOT SLIM AS DESCRIBED! The item displayed is not the item delivered. The seller describes the item as a slim power supply. It is not. It is a full sized Dell 90 watt power supply. It looks to be an actual Dell branded PS. I had ordered two. Both work fine but get very hot. They look to be identical to the 90 watt power supplies that shipped with my laptop. I gave 3 stars because the item is not a slim model as described. However, it is an actual Dell branded 90 watt PS that works (at least the two I received work- who knows what you will be shipped...).

It got my computer back and running!
My battery I thought was dead was recharged once I connected this adapter. My original one was frayed and wires were sticking out so I had to put electrical tape. My computer's speed increase, and it was more responsive. The price was 1/4 of Dell's price. The only problem I have is that the adapter body gets very hot when I use it for a long time. i try to turn off more frequently and unplug it and then it's fine. When I first got the adapter I accidentally had the wire disconnected so it would not start since I had a dead battery. My original Dell Adapter that was all taped up would still start the computer. Finally, I tried it again and it's working again. I'm glad I bought it, I just have to be careful about my battery.

Hit or miss.... have had two, one for 14 months and one for 6 months.
I've ordered two of these, from two different sellers. One on 10/14/13 and it lasted until 12/28/14 which was AWESOME, because I find they usually short out sooner than that.... then I ordered another one on 12/28/14 (different seller) and now 5/23/15, it's shorted out and unusable. So, first one I got 14 months of use, second one only 6 months of use. It's kind of hit or miss. Typical use for my cord is 3 - 4 times a week for around 6 hours at a time - and this is pretty consistent. I do not tightly wind it to store it and I'm careful not to bend the connections, because that's usually where the shorts occur. I will say that once a cord starts to short out on me, I will attempt to use it until the last drop of life is out of it, even if that means cutting it open and finding the short and attempting to fix and retape, ect.... The one that lasted me 14 months was spliced and retaped towards the end of its life - maybe the last 2 months?
