Buy it!! But not from here...
Love the new components, this version of Catan is, excellent but what seriously annoyed me is that it's not plastic wrapped! So basically it'll arrive with a disgusting sticker stuck to the sealed box. You can't remove it or it'll damage the box. I ordered this and Catan seafarers expansion a few days later, and both were brand new and sealed but no plastic wrap. The staff at amazon don't use pealable stickers. Don't get me wrong though, the components are great, and this edition is the best Catan version I've used. If you're a fan of the game, and are a bit concerned about the price, don't be cos this version will last years. Sleeve your cards and you'll be glad you bought it, but maybe buy it from a shop cos the net zero packaging will seriously wind you up when it arrives with an address label stuck to the actual box!!

Great but change rules for quicker game
Great for adding extra players. But more players makes the game very long. So we had to amend the rules to make it quicker. We played so that settlements can be placed anywhere, without connecting roads. And two adjacent settlements permitted at all ports.

The extra 2 players make the game much more interesting without making it a lot longer to play thanks to all player being able to build on every turn and being able to include more players just adds to the fun

Bit slow for 5+ players
It's OK. It can be a bit limiting as some resources can only be traded and you don't have what they need so the game can drag on with this many players

This was the 6th edition. The cards are not the same as my 5th edition. Apart from that it's great and goes well with my 6th edition of city and knights.

Fun game. Get ready to get addicted. I recommend having a person who has played the game explain it to you the first time because it’s a little complicated at first and keep the instructions handy but after one game you’ll get the hang of it. It’s such a great game. We even bought the extender so more people can play.
