Review: Simply the best. Poorly wrapped, tho. - If you want the best you have to pay more. These are the best. I just don't understand why the 600's cost more than 1000's. A 10% increase in yield, by using the best bulb, will result in an additional few hundred dollars worth of "produce". That's spectacular for a few extra bucks on the front end by merely buying these bulbs. Being a miser on hps bulbs isn't smart. If you're using hps, only use these! Veg anyway you want. Flower with Eye Hortilux Super HPS. Update: I've learned EH offers the best HPS bulbs....at a price. The last EH 600w SHPS bulb I bought was barely wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap. The sale was fulfilled by desertcart. It only lasted 6 1/2 months. There's a pandemic going on and I've been unable to reach desertcart or Eye Hortilux Customer Service. These bulbs are expensive. If their warranty is useless I will investigate the new full spectrum passively cooled leds before I buy 1 more EH bulb. I will update this if Eye Hortilux or desertcart provides information or fulfills the warranty. 2nd Update: EH eventually gave me a replacement. It took a while, as expected during an international crisis. I just can't quit thinking about those hlg Scorpion Diablo's, tho. I wonder how 1 would work when paired with a 600 EH SHPS in a 4x8? Hmmm.......

**Q: will this bulb work with a Digital Ballast?**
A: Yes. I have running two, both with quantum 600 watt digital ballasts, for several weeks now and am getting outstanding results

**Q: does this work with electronic ballast**
A: Yes. An electronic ballast simply changes the electric current used, from 60hz to 20,000hz. This keeps the bulb from blinking, and draws less electricity. An electronic ballast (versus a normal/magnetic ballast) does NOT change the voltage, so you will be fine with these bulbs.

**Q: These bulbs are good for both vegging ang flowering ??**
A: These are not good for vegging.  T-5  bulbs are good for vegging.  But very good for flowering.

**Q: how many inches above week old seedlings? Coverage area in veg?**
A: This is a 600watt hps bulb, which is very very VERY bright for seedlings or even small plants and could stress them from too much light by placing directly underneath the hood. Peraonally,before I invested in my t5 setup for my clones, i would just put my clones on the outer 4' perimiter of my room (so no direct blasting light really at all) until there at least a foot tall, or have 4 sets of leaves, then move them under the direct light, slowly over a few days, then start lowering my hood from 7' down to about 3-4 feet above the tops of the plants, lowering by about a foot per day until they are close enough and i can tell they are not being impacted in a negative way....T5 flourencents are made slecifically for seedlings and small plants to veg, and is a much better/safer bet for a beginner, but this amazing hortilix bulb can definately do the same job, you just have to be careful not to stress them with too much light diference at once. Plants are like people, we dont like being Shocked by temperatures/light/food/water/ect. You have to make gradual changes with everything you do, or you will wind up with very stressed plants.

If you want the best you have to pay more. These are the best. I just don't understand why the 600's cost more than 1000's.
