Budget friendly without feeling budget friendly
I was looking for an economic replacement for my old tripod. A couple of months ago I was out of town and had forgot to pack my tripod. I stopped at Best Buy and picked out a similarly priced tripod. Even though it claimed to be able to support a DSLR weighing 11 lbs I was greatly disappointed. I tried it out and it felt like it was way too flimsy for my camera, which weighed roughly 5 lbs. I was afraid it would tip over. It definitely did not make me feel very secure. I returned it the next day. I considered going with a more expensive option after that experience but decided to browse some sub $100 options. I stumbled upon the Geekoto tripod and began reading the reviews. Those reviews convinced me to give the tripod a chance. I figured that if it was not sturdy enough I would give it to my daughter who recently got a Sony A6300 which is much lighter than my Canon 5D iv. Unpacking the tripod I was impressed with the quality compared to my previous purchase. It seemed to be a much higher quality. It's not quite as sturdy as my old tripod, but I knew that going in to this. I attached the quick release plate ( and here's one of my minor complaints, the piece of metal that you twist to tighten the plate seems a little thin). Once I secured the plate onto the ball head I was satisfied that it was solid enough to handle my gear. If I had larger lenses like the 100-400 or other similar lenses I would want a bigger, more robust tripod, but for my gear it seemed completely adequate. I use a Canon 24-105, Canon 135 L, Canon 16-35 2.8L and a rokinon 14mm. I shoot a lot of vertical landscapes, so I tested how the ball head would handle the weight. To my surprise it seemed very solid. It was easy to position and hold it's position. I live in Wisconsin and shoot a lot in the winter. My carbon fiber tripod used twist leg locks but in the cold sometimes they would stick. It would make adjustments to the legs very difficult and at times impossible. In the past I've avoided the lever locks like the ones on the Geekoto tripod, so I was curious how they'd perform in the cold. Well, today we had a blizzard and temps near 0°F so I headed down to the lake to shoot our local lighthouse. I was changing position quite frequently, changing from high to low perspectives. The lever locks worked well and I had absolutely no issues. I love to get low for some more unique perspectives, so I put the legs out to their widest position to see how low I could go without inverting the center column (which is still possible with this tripod) and was pretty happy. For most applications I don't think I'd need to invert the center column as it was low enough for my taste but it's nice to know it's an option if I need it. I haven't used a monopod much in the past but recently started experimenting with video and found myself wishing I had one. Well, the Geekoto can break down to one. I wasn't actively shopping for a monopod but having that included is awesome. Some other thoughts on this tripod : the hook to add weight is nice to have. I carry a sandbag in my car and with my old tripod I had to find a way to kind of wrap around the head.. it wasn't very secure. Having the hook will help greatly. The bubble level is one of my nitpicks.. it's hard to see. When the camera is mounted to the head (at least in landscape orientation.. I'll have to look in vertical) it covers up the bubble. If you look hard enough you can find it, but it is a little awkward. I use the level or grid on my live view anyway, so for me it doesn't matter too much. And one last thing, it's super light! I attached it to my backpack and the length and weight are not intrusive at all. So, after one fun test day I'd say I am very satisfied with the Geekoto. It's a good economical choice that doesn't punish you for saving some money.

Great travel tripod under $100
So I was looking for a tripod that I could always just keep in the back of my car, inexpensive and lightweight. I already have a ring light from Geekoto, so based on that product, I figured this tripod would be a good option. I already had a trip planned to the Gulf Coast of Florida, so I figured I would put the tripod to work. I took it to the beach where I was able to get some nice sunset long exposure shots. The tripod was easy to use, so much so, my mother who was with me, was able to set it up without any help from me. And I don’t think she’s ever used a tripod before! I next used it do some real estate photography for some friends here. And it worked well and I was able to adjust it to any position needed, easily and quickly. I wasn’t sure if i would like the adjustment buckles but they worked well enough for me. I really like the option to turn a leg into a monopod, I gave it a try and it was again easy to set up and then add back to the tripod. The ball head with this is well made and I didn’t feel nervous putting my camera on it, it felt stable when tightened. And the arca-swiss type plate works with my L-bracket so that is always nice! So I’m very happy with this for the price! It’s a great and lightweight travel tripod that i will always keep in the car and will feel confident using when i don’t have my main tripod with me. Attaching some pictures of the tripod in use!

So many functions for a low price
From start to finish I was actually pretty impressed with this tripod. Starting w the bag this tripod comes. How convenient that it comes w its own travelling bag. Only measuring 21" long. Then you take out the tripod and it is well packaged. The ball head of this tripod comes with its own little baggie for few purposes. 1 it keeps the ball head safe from scratching when getting shipped and 2 to carry the extra tool and bolt which I will go into later. The legs of the tripod come inverted which is actually the most compact way to carry this tripod. Take a look at the picture that has the little baggie underneath the tripod. You could see that the ball head is in between the legs making it very compact. Pulling down the legs is very easy to make it into a regular tripod. Once you take off the little baggie so you could see in that picture you could see the construction of the ball head. I really like that the knobs have grooves to them which will make it really easy to use when it's really cold outside or you're wearing gloves. Which has been a struggle with me with my other big named tripods. An underrated future I think is the tripod plate. You don't need to be carrying an extra set of keys or coins to make the plate tighter. It's got the extra invitations to ensure your camera is not going to sway forward or back. I walked around with a tripod n and camera on top and it felt pretty secure to me. The main shaft has two knobs you could turn pretty easily to extend it higher or lower. This is also what helps it keep it more compact that's some tripots in the market only have one. Another cool feature is a you can take off one of the tripod legs and suddenly you have a monopod! the instructions are printed on the tripod so you know which way to tighten it and which way to loosen it. In order to make your monopod work you need to take off the head of the tripod. Which is done very easily with just your bare hands. You could see a picture how they had looks on top of the monopod. nothing exciting if you ever seen a monopod but very convenient that you have two in one at this tripod. But the monopod holds another secret feature! You can take off the main shaft from the tripod, use the additional Bolt the tripod comes with and then suddenly you can make your tripod the height of a house door. Now to be honest I cannot think of a scenario that I need a monopod this high, but the fact that this feature exist is pretty cool. I would also argue that going this high stability is not your friend but I don't think any tripod would be able to have decent stability at these height without weighing a ton. But maybe you're in a crowded place and you want to put your GoPro really high above the crowds this would be perfect. Next you could see a picture of all the components of this tripod taken apart. This is a little MacGyver of tripods. You can make it a monopod, you can make it at Super monopod, you could invert the main shafts so your camera is upside down, or you can have a baby tripod too leaving everything at it's lowest. Another thing I think is underappreciated these days it's instructions and an English!! 🤯 Just that by it self lol Next you can see some pictures of how the tripod legs extend. When you have it at its last clip your legs are almost at a 90 degree angle from the floor. Then you can start slowly making them down how you will see all the last picture. If you extend the tripod to its highest and it's least angle it goes up quite a bit. Overall for the price of this tripod, its features, it's weight, it's portability, it's style and sturdiness (again for it's price) I'd say it's a must buy. I don't have real world example photos because to me those are never useful in reviews. I want to see how knobs look, how legs and build look. I hope my review could help you and have a good day.

Perfect Photo Tripod for Hiking
I've been searching for a compact tripod to use outdoor photography shoots and found the Geekoto 58" as a great option. It's light weight enough to take on international trips and much more realistic to hike with than my heavier tripods. I've compared it to the size of my 2'x1' Pelican case for reference (not included in package* see photo below). An important note about the tripod I found when using it, due to the light weight materials it does tend to wobble more when fully extended than a heavier tripod. Be conscious of this for your long exposure shots as wind or vibrations from walking around the tripod could effect your shot. However there is a hook at the base of the center tripod pole (pictured below) that extends and can be used to hang weight from to minimize this issue. PROS: -very lightweight -small profile when folded for travel -versatile positions and lengths of tripod. (can be used upside down or as monopod *see picture below) -removable ball-head mount (can be upgraded to another more expensive head in the future) CONS: -Prone to wobble when fully extended. -plastic ball head (outer orange shell is metal but center rotating ball is hard plastic). Overall the small sacrifices for having a smaller lightweight tripod are well worth it for my use. For the price it is the ideal travel photography tripod. I would certainly recommend it for this use, but avoid using it for video unless you plan on upgrading the head to a pan/tilt.

A Great Tripod To Have
I love photography and have been wanting to buy a tripod for quite a while now. The one thing that has always kept me from buying one was the cost. A high priced first tripod just doesn't sound ideal to me. Luckily I stumbled onto the Geekoto company. I do a lot of hiking and general outdoors walking. When I came across the Compact 77’’ Aluminum Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head from Geekoto, I was very intrigued. What got me first was Compact! I could carry this along with me without too much hassle. I looked at the pics, the features...and the price. I was instantly sold. Don't get me wrong, I don't know much about the specifics. But what I read, I liked. It arrived a few days ago and I took it out to try along our canal. To be totally honest...it is worth every penny. The fact that it can go 77 inches high, as well as being able to do inverted shots is really nice. I found the varying of the stand to be even better. I have since used it on the Appalachian Trail and it balanced out perfectly. I was able to drop it down to grab pics off the overlooks without worry. I have only used it a few times so far but so far it is quite durable. The frame is very lightweight and you can barely even tell you are carrying it. Another nice feature for me as I like to go deep in the woods for pictures. The rotating ball head also allows you to grab many angles while not having to worry about it loosening up. Quite frankly, this is a great tripod for the price. I am now looking into other Geekoto products to see how they stand up. I am really happy with this purchase. For anyone out there that is on the fence, hop on over and try this. You won't disappointed. It is compact, durable, versatile, and "cheap" in price. I am super stoked about mine. I wish I would have known about Geekoto years ago.

Best tripod under $100
The best tripod under $100 I've used. Not the material quality of a $200-300 tripod but it's light, sturdy enough, all it's functions work well, good height. Easy recommendation for a travel tripod or general use for someone who knows they don't need anything too crazy. My only complaint is that the case it comes with is for its fully folded size (as in with the legs put all the way up and all extensions fully compressed). And that increases deployment time. But that's pretty common for these types of tripods. Also it's a little easy to accidently start unscrewing the head if the pan lock is too light. So if you're looking to do more demanding work, I would recommend buying something more expensive, but for the average person just looking for something better than $20 plastic crap that falls apart on you, this one is an easy recommendation.

Pros and Con!
Where do I start? Okay, I’m simple going to give a list of pros and cons. Let’s start out on a positive note! PROS 1.IT LOOKS AWESOME! I love the colors! I know that color really doesn’t matter for most people when it comes to something as simple as a tripod (unless it’s like bright pink). Black and orange are two of my favorite colors to partner up together and I gotta say, this tripod looks great in these colors. It’s a nice matte finish too, which I seem to like better then a really glossy finish. It’s very smooth and nice to the touch! All of the knobs are coated in rubber as well as the spots to tighten up the center extender. It even has a foam rubber grip on the leg that transforms into a monopod! All in all, it’s very nice to the eye and feels good in the hands! 2. ITS TALLER THEN MOST TRIPODS! With myself being almost 6’3, I was excited to see that it extended 77” tall. That’s almost 3” taller then I am!!! I’m not let down in any way when it comes to the size of this tripod! I wanted something that could extend really high, it opens the door to more angles to shoot from! 3. ALL OF THE POSITIONS!! I love how it turns into a monopod, small tripod, and a really tall tripod. You can even spin around the center of the tripod so your camera is suspended extremely close to the ground! It is a very good design and it’s pretty much one of the main reasons I bought it, because it’s so versatile! It even has a hook, so you can attach your camera bag/backpack to make it more sturdy! 4. ITS WELL MADE! When I first pulled it out of the box I was surprised with the build quality. It’s a really nice and sturdy tripod. I use a canon 80D with a battery grip at times and I feel completely confident in this tripod support my camera with any lens! I only had this tripod for about an hour and I already know it is going to be there to support my needs for many years to come! Okay, now that I got all of the pros out of the way, it’s time for the cons! To be perfectly honest, I only really have 1 con! CON.. 1 and only con. When it’s completely folded up it’s still just a little bit to big then I would like it to be. It measures about 19”. I would be extremely happy if they could get that down between 14” and 16”. It seems just a tad to be to hook it on my backpack for some street photography around the city. Now, this isn’t in anyway a deal breaker for me. It’s still going to go on my back and go into the city with me! And everywhere else I may need it! All of that being said, I everything I said helps someone make a choice. I’m completely happy with my choice and I hope your happy with yours!

Good Travel Tripod
Tripod is really compact, lightweight for travelling easily with - but not quite as sturdy as I had hoped to handle my DSLR with a 14-20mm lens. It works - but there's a bit of wobble. I do highly recommend it for travel purposed. The ball head is a great asset to this tripod.
