Loved every minute of the books. Lots f the technical terms we’re beyond my understanding , but didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story. Felt that parts of it could really happen.

I tried reading Clancy as a teenager and just could not get into his denser writing style. Now that I’m older can’t get enough. The idea of Japan wanting to get back at America after WWII provides for an interesting plot. It takes almost a third of the book before things start cooking but it’s worth the journey.

This was a great book. You never quite know what is going to happen until it happens. A very hard book to put down because of the masterful way it is written. Tremendous job Tom Clancy!

A good Clancy read, but almost overwhelmed by the military jargon and minutiae. You also need quite an imagination to make this work, but now I am compelled to read the next in the series, which I already downloaded—though I’m going to have to read something else in order to cleanse my palette.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as most of the Ryan books I’ve read. There were so many subplots and background discussion that I lost interest. The conclusion was startling and well done.

This book is gripping when it gets going but takes forever to get started. Not my favorite Clancy book but enjoyable.

This book is long and intense. It’s full of action, the character development was pretty solid, and the plot keeps you wanting more.

Once you get past the beginning and the context-setting parts, it gets thrilling, the Tom Clancy's way: great character development, movie-like storytelling. It has a great 'flow' to it. As someone living in Japan, it felt pretty real and believable.

Debt of Honor is another fantastic novel in the Jack Ryan series by Tom Clancy. Now known for foreshadowing the events of 9/11 and a direct sequel to The Sum of All Fears. Like all of Clancy's novels in the 80s and 90s Debt of Honor is a thrilling ride from start to finish that even after 25 years is still relevant in today's climate. Like Crichton, another godfather of the techno-thriller, these books are hard to put down.

やっと読み終えた、、もっぱらKindleで読むんだけどKindleの弱点は本の厚さがわからないこと😔トムクランシーのは長いとは思っていたけど、、恐ろしく長い、長かった💦少し前にThreat Vector（邦題:日中開戦）を読んだ時長いと感じたけど、その比じゃない😵Kindleだとページ番号ではなく本をどのくらい読み進んだかパーセントが表示されるのだけれど昼休みに読むぐらいじゃ1%も進まない😑しかも頭に入らない😓そこで思いついた💡Amazon Audible🎧強制的に読み進むことを❣️でも長いと感じたThreat Vectorが約9時間、このDebt of Honorはなんと36時間😅やはりかなりの大作でした、、とにかく再生スピードを1.3倍にして目と耳から強制的に物語を入れることで読み切った🎊それなら聞くだけでいいじゃんと思われるかもしれないけど私の場合は目からも活字を入れないとヒアリングだけじゃちょっと何を言っているのかわからなかった。。ところで物語Debt of Honor（日米開戦）は日本が密かに核ミサイルを保有して共同軍事演習を装ってアメリカの潜水艦を撃沈しちゃったりありえない内容なのですが、前半でアメリカの経済を混乱させるためにDTCの取引記録を消しちゃうところなんか笑わせてくれる。この作品は1994年に書かれたので、まだインターネットやEメールが普及する前だけど、それにしてもDTCの記録を飛ばして一週間も公にならないなんてことはないわね🤣でもDTC Depository Trust Companyなんて一般にマイナーな米国証券保管機関が登場するのは長年関わりあった私は嬉しかった。いつものトムクランシーの作品と違ってドンパチのバトルシーンが少なくて経済の仕組みと混乱を引き起こすところがくどくどと長く半分ぐらい占めてかなり飽きます。この取引所の混乱をジャック・ライアンのありえない解決策で乗り切ります。なんと金曜日の大荒れの1日の取引はDTCの記録が消えたのでそもそも無かったことに😳💦💦いやあ、、ムリだから笑笑その働きを認められてジャックは副大統領に任命されるのですがその就任の場にJALの747がアメリカの議事堂に突っ込んで大統領始め上下院議員の多くが死んでしまい、なんとジャックは大統領に就任することに😱このDebt of Honorは民間航空機を使ったテロの最初の話で9/11を予言するかのようでした。また、私が連休中にはまったキーファー・サザーランドのサバイバー宿命の大統領の議事堂が爆破されて大統領以下上下院議員がほとんど死んでしまう設定はここからヒントを得ているのだと思います。さて次はExective Order合衆国崩壊で読んだと思っていたのですが、Exective Decision と間違えていました😓まだ読んでないみたいだけど、、やっぱりこれも相当長そうなので、ちょっと引いています😑トム・クランシー原書で読むのは体力が要ります😩

9.11を予告した作品ですね、思い返して英語で読みました、日本人の記述がおかしいですけど
