So I keep this stick on my desk at work for whenever I need to pop my hair up. The wood is quite smooth with a shiny finish (no worries about splinters here). This had me worried initially- would it simply slip from my hair? Nope stays up throughout the day until I pull it out. No slipping, no drooping buns, no wobbles when I run around the office or lean to pick things up. The only movement is a rotation of the stick itself (say the flower turns upward instead of forward). This is more dependent on how you pin the hair given the curved stick. The decorative bit has been secure and hasn't really snagged on my hair. I'd say there's only one thing to get used to: actually placing it when pinning the hair feels strange at first. This is coming from someone who's only pinned her hair using straight sticks. This stick has two curves, like a skinny "S" . It looks pretty subtle toward the tail, but you'll definitely feel it when threading. Very slight learning curve, but not impossible or overly difficult. Last point, the stick is thick. Not grossly like a fat marker, but it's also not as thin as a pencil. I mention this for 2 reasons: the more tactile folk out there (like me) would probably take notice as another sort of "hand-feel" to get used to. The other is it's sturdy. I am not worried about it snapping while I'm whipping my hair into shape. This doesn't mean I'm about to get aggressive just to test the waters, any good quality product can be damaged if abused. Pretty and keeps the hair up!

Ok so I got tired of using a pencil and started looking for an actual pin. This one looked nice in the picture, happy to say it arrived fast, I loved the packaging and it looks pretty! It’s smooth, and it holds up on my hair.

Pretty, and sturdy enough to hold my long hair in place. It's very light weight and easy to use. It's wood, so it's not flexible, but it weaves into my long- hair bun securely.

Very cute, but the petals on the flower started falling off pretty quickly. The stick part is very sturdy, though. I took it on vacation with me, and in less than a week I’m down to two petals remaining. Edit to add: the stick part is not as sturdy as I thought and broke in half after roughly four wears.

It came in a tasteful box. The hairpin itself is heavy and feels sturdy. It is well crafted. I have long thick hair and it hold it up tightly. Definitely worth it.

Came in a cute gift box; could tell the seller took a lot of pride and care in their product. Very sturdy, cherry blossom design is beautiful - looks nicer than in the pictures. It's a little bit thick than I thought and I have really fine hair so it took a bit to get the right styles for it to stay in since I don't have enough hair apparently. Might go with something a little thinner next time. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a hair stick though. It's worth the price!
