HiLetgo 5pcs ULN2003 28BYJ-48 4-Phase Stepper Motor with 5V Drive Board for Arduino PI PIC Raspberry Pi

For the price, this is a great addition to my growing junk kit for my Arduino. Unfortunately, it (well, this batch anyway) does not work natively with Arduino's default Stepper.h library. The fix is easy, it's just a matter of ordering the phases correctly. I would not recommend modding the Stepper.cpp file as that will break the library for other 4-phase stepper motors. Drive the output pins in adjacent pairs in sequence: like this: 1 0 0 1 0 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 0 As a caveat, try this ONLY if your ULN2003/28BYJ-48 stepper assembly does not work correctly out of the box.

motor went out on my tesla so i popped one of these bad boys in there. does it have the same acceleration? no. was my wife happy? yes. wired that thing up with the help of claude and the thing has never been quieter. my wife that is. she's even backdoor compatible now. thank you china. thank you lord bezos.

I have always been very pleased with the products branded Hiletgo from Amazon. They always sell components that arrive in good working order. This time was no exception. All the supplied motors and controller boards worked. There were a couple of things that bothered me though. First, the stepper motors seemed to rotate in the opposite direction from what I expected. Based on the demo performed in "DroneBot Workshop" on YouTube, positive step values should have rotated clockwise and negative values counterclockwise. These motors operate in reverse, unless you view them from the back, I guess. But that's not how it is shown on the DroneBot site. This is easily corrected in software, so I won't belabor that point. Second, and this is potentially more serious, after operating the motors for a few minutes they became so hot that I could not handle them. This leads me to believe that they would malfunction in a continuous duty application. I don't think this is a device quality issue so much as a design issue. But, I thought that I should point it out in case someone is buying them with the intention of running them continuously without some sort of heat sink and cooling.

I’m always a big fan of the electronic devices/parts when they’re sold and shipped in affordable & plentiful quantities as this offering featured. I’ve managed to not only get some great usage out of these steppers. I’m looking forward to some future plans as well

Easy to setup. All of them worked. Great for practicing with, but the speed is very slow and they can only handle low torque.

Perfect for my Arduino application. Steppers are simple to program. They're great as long as you don't need a lot of torque. Perfect for moving the hands on a clock.

I like experimenting with things I know nothing about. Stepper motors are new to me. HiLetGo is always a good source because they have good price and service. These are a low power, and low speed motor. I found that they work very well, and there is ample documentation available for them. The quality of the product is high.
