We use them to freeze food cubes (i.e. stock, soup, egg whites, fruit and juice for smoothies, etc.) then transfer the frozen cubes to freezer bags. They are easy to fill and hold a good amount. Because the sides are sturdy, the cubes are a bit fiddly to remove since we don't want to defrost the cubes by dipping them in hot water; however the cubes can be pushed out enough to grab the top and pull them out. Since they are silicone, the trays do not transfer flavours and clean up easily with soap and water.
