Why does the video show the installation of the drain line between the wall and the p-trap where sewer gases could back flow into unit?

Hello. The system comes with a back wash system included. Installing the Drain Saddle 3.1 Choose a spot on the drain pipe that is convenient for installing the drain saddle and tubing. A horizontal pipe is recommended to minimize the dripping sound. 3.2 Drill a 1 /4 inch hole in the drain pipe, and paste the black sticky pad around the hole. 3.3 Cut the WHITE tubing end to make a 45 degree angle. Slip the plastic nut and front plate on the tubing. Insert the tubing into the 1 / 4 inch hole in the drain pipe, install the back plate, and tighten the two screws with hex nuts while the tubing remains in the hole. Insert Lock Clip. Pull the tubing lightly to make sure it is secure. 3.4 Tighten the nut on the Drain Saddle by hand. Pull the tubing lightly to make sure it is secure.

What should I expect the water ph balance to be once connected?

Hi Jeremiah, The ph value is dependent on the ph value from the source water and also is dependent on the mineral content in the source water

Wii it work with well water

Yes but you may prefer a system with booster pump to maintain pressure necessary for reverse osmosis process. We also have pump systems equipped with UV lights for well water.
