El Yucateco Red Habanero Hot Sauce - 68 oz. - Half Gallon

This is a great Red Sauce. Pretty hot but not overwhelming. I'd previously ordered 5 12oz bottles of Melinda's Ghost Pepper Sauce, which is execellent but maybe just a little too hot for everyday use. This Red Habanero Sauce picks up the slack nicely. Oh. And it's not just in the "comfortable range" of hot, It's also got a great flavor as well. The big size bottle should keep you going for months. (I also purchased a 2-pack of condiment dispensers (16oz) and a set of collapsible funnels at the same time - works great. I should have done this years ago).

This is my second time of ordering the large bottle. The 1st time the bottle arrived damaged (and leaking). Thankfully, this time it arrived undamaged. Best flavored hot sauce on the market. Just the right amount of fire. No need to waste money on the little bottles sold in the grocery stores.

There's a time and a place for complex hot sauces, but sometimes you just want to add some hot pepper to your dish, and not mess with the flavor too much. That's what I love about this. I can pour it all over a burger or slice of pizza, or mix it in with my soup, and it's like adding habanero and nothing else. It contains just enough vinegar to be shelf stable, not so much that it turns your food sour. Just the right thickness too, it pours easily without being runny, and you don't have to smack the bottom of the bottle with your palm for four hours trying get it to come out. I like the half gallon size in particular because I can refill smaller bottles. Get a transmission fluid funnel, it's the perfect size for refilling hot sauce bottles. It's definitely not the hottest thing out there though, and I can quite easily end up using half or more of a regular 4oz sized bottle in a sitting. The main advantage here is the red color tends to go better with more dishes. I prefer the heat of the green stuff, but some things just don't look good tinted green. So I try to keep a half gallon of the red around to keep a 4oz bottle topped off at all times. Invest in a transmission fluid funnel--it's the perfect size for refilling hot sauce bottles.
