Everbrite Starter Kit (16 Oz.) Clear, Protective Coating for Metal

The kit restored my oxidized/dull brown bronze mermaid fountain to better than new! It’s amazing to experience Everbrite easily removing years of dull oxidation to reveal the original bronze luster. It’s only been three weeks on, but so far, there’s been no reduction in the brilliant shine—which Everbrite states will last for five years or so. It’s absolutely VITAL that the somewhat complicated procedures described in the instructions are followed meticulously and in the proper order. This isn’t a project for the impatient. You will need a few common chemicals (e.g. lacquer thinner, isopropyl alcohol) that aren’t included in the kit. The reward is worth the attention to detail. Wear the gloves included in the kit when applying the Everbrite finish, or you will spend a long time trying to remove it from your hands. To achieve my desired result, it was vital to purchase not only the Everbrite finish itself, but the copper restorer that’s also included in this kit, as bronze and brass are alloys comprised of approximately 90% copper. When I first opened the box, I was surprised at how small the can was for the amount I needed to cover. I was using it for an outside patio bar that was metal. We wanted it to rust, which it did, but we didn't want the rust to end up all over our guests. So we got this product to coat the metal and protect it. The extra products that came in the package were useful for the most part, but I found the most effective thing to spread the coating was a very small roller that was able to get into the tight spaces. I also had a small sponge brush that helped as well. I did use the cleaner to prep the metal which seemed to work well. But since I wanted the rusty look, I didn't take much of that off preferring to have the patina to enhance the look. Overall, the Everbrite did the job nicely and went on easily. I had about half a can left after covering the bar in the picture and four chairs.

Outside residential black lighting lamps (4) looked aged and faded. This is a multi-step process but lamps looked nice shiny black when I was finished. It's been a year and they still look good.

Great product - take your time prepping. But the applicator pads in this kit can disintegrate quickly. Use your own pads, or else you may end up with fabric flakes in the coating.

Follow directions and apply slowly, making sure you don't leave bubbles. I hired a couple of high school kids to prep and coat a black powdercoated deck railing. Looks as good (actually better) than new. If the finish lasts, which others say it does, it will be one of the best products I have used. Not cheap, but so far worth it.

Wonderful! It has restored my 50 year old aluminum siding. It brighten the color and hopefully will keep dirt and algea from sticking to it. Now the rain just beads up and runs off. It was easy to apply with a paint sprayer. After years of having to wash it, I'm hoping this will last for years.
