I used it for stuff like charging my camera and powering things like my hairdryer or curling iron when I’m travel to these place with 220V outlets. It does the job, no overheating or anything weird like that during the trip. Works as it should. Sometimes I wish it had a little light or something to show it’s on, because I’m paranoid about plugging things in wrong, but that’s not a huge deal. It does the job for my small appliances, though I didn't test it with anything heavy duty.

It is very helpful. I had bought something in China but not working because of the voltage. But after plugging in with this one, it started working perfectly. It included different parts working in different countries. Highly recommended.

This small and relatively lightweight (10 oz.) voltage converter kit easy fits in my suitcase and comes with four outlet adapters for use worldwide. You can plug two and three-pronged cords into it. It also has a couple of 2.5a USB-A devices ports for charging phones or plugging in a bathroom nightlight. I used it in Europe with a single voltage 2000w curling iron and it worked great. It comes with a handy mesh drawstring sack to keep all the pieces in one place.

I have a real collection of adapters and converters courtesy of all my travel. If I could ditch most and stick with this one, I would. It has both a converter and a standalone adapter option, it does not weigh a ton, and it is affordable. Now keep in mind the converter works for basically one item at a time - if your precious curling iron must travel with you to Japan, this is the thing to get. Electronics are generally adapted to both 220 and 110, so you'll only need the adapters, which can be used on their own (major bonus points for that). One adapter may or may not be enough (never enough for me) but as a one-size-fits-all type of product, this is a great find.

I really have no way to test this now until we actually go on the trip we have planned. Everything here in the US is 110V. We need this for a trip to the UK in April. I have another voltage step-down converter already, but it was rated only to 300 watts which is fine for notebooks, tablets, and phones, but is not sufficient for haircare electronics. I anticipate our accommodations will already have hair dryers, but my wife really wants to be able to use either a curler or straightener as she desires. This unit says it's rated to 2000 watts, which should be plenty for her travel curler and straightener. It comes in what looks like a retail box with a manual. I'm withholding 1 star because I have no way to test this until we actually use it. Once tested in actual use, I'll revise the rating if appropriate. My 300 watt unit cost more than this one, so if this works as promised, it will be a very good value.
