Reaper Fixed Blade Tactical Knife with Bonus Belt Holder Sheaths

I originally bought two folding HR (Hoffman Richter)-15's. one as a gift, the other for myself. The quality of the spring action, and the weight and feel of the knife itself belies the low cost of the knife. When I saw Amazon discounting the rest of the HR line, I bought the HR-30, Wolf and of course the radical "Reaper".If you're a knife guy (or gal), this knife will put a smile on your face as soon as you open the package. The full tang blade is almost 1/4" thick and came out of the box razor sharp. In proper defense grip, the handle is surprisingly ergonomically shaped and comfortable to hold. The handle is knurled and gives a good grip.The only draw back is the concave shape to the blade, which will make using a traditional sharpening stone impossible. BUT, you'll have time to figure it out because the thing feels like it'll last forever. Besides, it's more of a tactical knife and not my daily user like the folding 15 or 30 model I carry every day, but it will be there when you really need it.It came with two sheathes, one nylon, one rigid plastic. The blade is so sharp, you'll probably slice through the nylon one if your not careful. The rigid one holds the blade fairly well but isn't on par with, say a Kabar, which takes a good tug to dislodge, so I would hesitate to wear it upside down.Can't beat this knife for the money. Period.

Arrived with a very dull blade. I was expecting at least a decent edge on it.

I like the uniform gray appearance, and the feel of the handle in my hand. But the handle is all metal. It's very heavy. I'd never even think about carrying this knife into the wild with these handle scales. On the other hand the scales wouldn't be hard to duplicate in wood or maybe Micarta. The scales could easily be traced onto wood scales and cut out. Then take a round file and go around the edge. In my opinion throw the metal scales away. I like the size and shape of the blade. It cuts pretty well though the grinds at the sub-point don't properly align a smooth cut goes wrong there. It is fixable and I think could be a useful tool.

I've purchased three of these knives. All for myself. The first two were stolen. I bought one for work and one for EDC. My work one was stolen so I moved my EDC to work. Then it was stolen a year later. But they out in a lot of work on drilling rigs. Hoffman Richter is a good brand, and the reaper will get you through anything you need it too.Edit, I have now bought 4. Gifted one to a workmate and bought myself a new one. Amazing knife

Knife came in correct packaging. Looked nice , heavy but knife doesnt come sharp, cant hold a sharpness. Can be used to cut brittle and thin ropes. Mine broke trying to open a can of tomato sauce. Kydex holster doesnt keep its retention. Save your money buy a better knife

Is there any way to fix the kydex sheath. I carry all my knives on my LBV and any running and the knife is coming out. Will return if no fix.

This is a knife! It is beautiful. Great workmanship. When you pick it up you know you are holding something that will last a lifetime. It is very solid. The plastic sheath is a little loose, but still will hold the knife. I am sure that this knife can be used in any heavy or light situation.The handle has a great texture. I love the wolf etched on the blade, and the brand on the handle. I plan to buy another as a gift.

Seems nice, but over priced. I just got an e-mail from survival life ,and looked it up here, and it's only $9.99 there. can't comment on knife itself.
