How do you place the medal in the frame without having to bring the ribbon outside the frame in the back?

You'll have to take the frames off (all attached by magnets), and there's a smaller black background were you'd put the ribbon behind. You'll have to fold the ribbon once or twice depending on how long the ribbon is. Once it's in there You can place the outter frames back. I hope that helps.

Is there framing hardware on the back of the frame, i.e, a hook or wires?

The frame has a small opening a hook can be inserted into. Ours is displayed on a shelf so it leans against the wall without using the hole. There are 4 rubber tabs on each corner to keep the back of the frame from being scratched.

Can this frame be hung?

Yes, this frame was designed to be able to hang on a wall as it has a keyhole in the back. It can also self-stand on a stable, flat surface.

Is there glass in the front to keep medal from getting dusty and etc?

Yes, the outer layer is clear acrylic and simply attached by magnets, so the item inside will not get dusty.
