According to Amazon, I bought this on May 28, 2024. It is only May 1, 2025 and when I pulled it out of the drawer yesterday, it was flashing on and off, making an odd noise. I changed out the batteries and that helped. I've only used this one a couple of times, and got readings of 97.4 to 97.5. I felt that the temp was wrong, but I didn't have another thermometer on hand to check the accuracy. Now I suspect that when I checked those two times, I may have actually had a low-grade fever and this thing said I didn't. After putting in new batteries today, my temp reads 97.5 on my forehead, 96.9 under one armpit, 97.8 under the other armpit, and 97.1 on my neck. I just don't trust this thing. There is no battery indicator on it to show when the battery is low, so the flashing and the noise was disconcerting. For something that you only need once in a while, you need to know that it's going to be accurate when you need it the most. Wish I could get my money back, but it's obviously past the 30 day expiration date of return. Not durable. Also, on the LED display, the far left side is faded out, so the middle and right side of the number is fairly dark and readable, but the left side I have to move the thermometer around a bit to confirm whether it's a "9" or another number. Anyway, I wouldn't buy this item again and would not recommend to anyone else.
