Al-Ghazali on the Condemnation of Pride and Self-Admiration: Book XXIX of the Revival of the Religious Sciences (The Islamic Texts Society's al-Ghazali Series)

As someone who tends to find religious books difficult to read, i loved this one. All of the Ghazali books are so easy to read. The translators have done a great job in writing in simple understandable terms that makes the book flow. This book along with the others in the series really teaches us the characters a true muslim should have. So much to reflect on. Everything is backed with academic resources and hadiths. Each book is essentially a chapter from Ghazalis books 4 books on revival of religious studies. The fact that the 4 books are split into chapters each as a separate book makes it easier to read rather than being overwhelmed with 4 big books. You don't need to follow any specific order so you can pick up which ever book you want to start from. I loved it and ordered all from the series!

Excellent careful translation. The footnotes are very helpful. A real insight into inner misconduct and how we can rectify it.
