Next time, buy an item that takes a standard battery
Battery is fine, price is not. When you need a special battery, be prepared to pay a special price. The price is going to just keep going up and you have 2 choices, pay it, or not. I have a $1000+ SCUBA dive computer that works well with a charged battery. I can’t just throw it away because the battery now costs $40+: It wasn’t $40+ when I bought the computer.
