These are easy to use so I recommend them for the elderly that may not be able to pull the pin on a standard fire extinguisher. I recommend removing the plastic seal immediately so an elderly person can use it very easily. The only downfall is the 3-4 year expiration label. This seems like a ploy to keep up sales, but who knows. In any case, give one to your parents! I bought ten and have them to my parents and handicapped friends.

I've not had to use this thankfully, but it's nice to have in the kitchen for safety should there be an emergency. It's small and fits in the cabinet next to the stove, no mounting necessary. Worth the price for peace of mind!
