I have been on the hunt for a clean mineral sunscreen for years. Every zinc oxide formula I have tried either left me looking like a mime or felt so greasy I could fry an egg on my forehead. This tallow based sunblock from Sky and Sol is the first one that actually feels good on my skin. The non nano zinc oxide provides real broad spectrum protection without the chemical UV filters that make my eyes sting when I sweat. The 100 percent grass fed tallow base is the secret weapon; it matches my skin's natural oils so closely that it absorbs without that waxy, sitting on top feeling. Organic olive oil, beeswax, and shea butter round out the ingredient list; nothing I cannot pronounce, nothing that requires a chemistry degree to understand. I wore this on a 4 hour hike in 28 degree heat and it held up. No burn on my shoulders, no white cast in photos, and my skin felt moisturized instead of stripped. The water resistance handled sweat and a quick dip in the lake without washing away. It sits well under a light layer of powder if I want to even out the slight dewy finish. The 3 ounce tube is portable and the formula spreads easily; a little goes further than I expected. The unscented version has a very mild natural smell from the ingredients, nothing artificial or overpowering. For the price, this is a premium natural sunscreen that actually delivers on its promises. I am docking half a star only because the tube is a bit small for daily full body use; I go through it faster than I would like. 5 stars for the product, 4.5 stars for the value.

I like the ingredients list but there's a strong fragrance smell to it. Barely used

I love this! It doesn't clog my pores, has hardly any detectable smell. It spreads evenly and easily, and is very moisturizing. I'm very active in outdoor sports all seasons, and this is my favorite for cold weather. I use it on my face skiing, and it prevents sun exposure as well as being a good enough moisture barrier that it prevents chapping from the wind and neck gator, etc. I have the 30 and the 50. 30 leaves hardly any white haze on skin, just a glow. The 50 does have a slightly white haze, but totally tolerable compared to some of my others. It is fairly rub resistant, but not foolproof. For total rub resistance in high sun environments - snorkel, close to equator, etc - I use Thinksport.

Would give 5 stars if it werent for the price and the bottle being half full/half empty. And YES, It did still have foil seal on it. So this is simply this companys standards....to charge almost 40 dollars for a tube that's not even full. Great product but this isnt okay. It said 3oz...so idk maybe I should've paid closer attention to the amount...they probably don't want to use a smaller tube and charge what they do. It u look on the tube, the 3oz. is very small and thin line font. It was disappointing opening it....Its like a bag of potato chips...look like they got alot but when u open it ...it's mostly air. So as much as I loved this product I won't be ordering it again unless they correct this small amount for the price. Other than that... Love the texture. Didnt leave white residue. Left skin feeling nourished, soft, and protected. No greasy feel.
