I didn't look closely at this and expected an actual machete to cut some brush with. It's very lightweight, the edge isn't good at chopping, and the handle is just a string wrapped around the tang, making it uncomfortable and possibly even dangerous to use. I was unable to cut through even half inch brush without several hard swings, as there is just no heft at all to the blade. It's really a decorative/novelty item.

My husband liked it! Feels very solid and well made.

I have an extensive collection of all sorts of blades, and this one looks nice, but after a good examination I'm not sure I'd bring it out with me into the woods. I think the gap in the blade edge geometry just makes this feel really light duty, as in it doesn't have much weight to it. The edge looks pretty good, and it does feel fairly solid overall being a single piece of steel and therefore full tang by default, but kind of feels like the design was way more orientated on looks rather than functionality. This would certainly work for light duty tasks like clearing brush or green vegetation, but if you're intending for something able to do some light chopping this really just doesn't have the weight for it. The case for the most part is really nice, but they really bungled on the snaps which feel kind of cheap and also the straps holding the snaps are really thin and don't feel very secure.If you want this mostly for looks/display there's no harm in getting it, but if you're looking for something to use even occasionally I think you'd be much better served with a classic style sheet metal machete and it'll likely be cheaper as well even if they do look boring.

This knife looks more like a short sword than a machete. If you're looking for something that looks nice and something to put in your collection this could be a good addition for you. But I find that it's not very functional for chopping and that's what I was hoping to get it for. It is Very light easy to swing. When mine came it was not as sharp as I would like but that's easily taken care of. I'm not a big fan of the the handle although it does have a full tang. The corded handle seemed to turn and twist in my hand as I tried to use it. My son and I went out and tried to use it too cut a few small branches(more twigs then branches) to trim them back in to shape. And we both had the same problem every time we swung the machete it would turn sideways on us before we ever reach the cutting surface. which I found a little bit dangerous and it would bounce off instead of cutting. It looks nice and is made of good steel. The sheath fits the knife well I don't know how well snaps will hold and how durable the strap that goes around your shoulder will be but it does work well to keep a sharp knife away from you when you're carrying it.

Cool machete! A little more gear towards the fork than function, but works well and feels good in the hand. Overall, no complaints and a great tools to add to your collection!

OK if you expect a "Decorative Novelty"... don't expect this to be a functional tool.BUDGET design and manufacture.Similar to a hardware store $10 item, except this has a "make-over" to make it look good

This machete is really stylish and functional. I kept meaning to get one as I have a ton of briar bushes on the property and hate getting near them. This lets you stay an arms length away while chopping them up. Do yourself a favor and swipe away from your body so no accidents happen!The blade is sharp and the rope wrapped handle is easy to grip. I was making good progress chopping old and new briars. I will keep this in the arsenal for just this purpose.
