This is pretty basic soup but I like them like that.

It's not always easy to find Beef Consomme at the grocery stores, so I've been ordering it here. Not only is it usually available, but it's a better price on here too - especially when it's on a sale! Anyway, living in northern Minnesota, where we currently have quite a lot of snow on the ground already, it's such a treat to get a 12-pack case delivered. I rarely use this soup just for a soup, as it's so versatile to cook with. It's great to add to a beef and barley Guinness stew, I've also used it for pot roast, soup bases, even as an au jus base for French dip sandwiches. Other soups I always keep on hand for recipes are Cream of Onion, Cream of Bacon, and the Cream of Potato soup - it's a delicious base for loaded potato soup! Anyway, thanks Amazon, for supplying it, as well as getting it to us undamaged, in perfect condition.😊

I get the same comment every time i make this, " This is the best beef roast I've ever eaten!" I line the bottom of the crockpot with 1 sliced up onion. I dust the chuck or shoulder roast in flour, then braise it on all sides, with salt, pepper, onion and a little garlic powder. I put it on the onions, and put 1 tsp Better Than Bouillion broth mixed with 1/2 c water, and mix it with one can Beefy Mushroom concentrate. I pour it over the roast, slow cooking it for 8 to 9 hours, even when I'm using a frozen roast. When done, I take the liquid out, strain it and make a flour slurry for gravy. I serve it with mashed potatoes. The roast is sooo tender and delicious.
