Direct replacement for 2008 Chevy Malibu
Worked perfectly on a 2008 Chevy Malibu.The original transmission shift cable bushing rotted and fell off. This was a direct replacement.

Start by replacing this first, but may need to adjust the tension.
Good aftermarket replacement for the gear shifter bushing. It does help to soften up the grommet by letting it soak in hot water for a little while. I haven't seen this on any of the instructions or videos, but if you're still having issues with slack or the car not going into proper gears, you can remove the white/clear retaining clip and adjust the tension on the bushing. Do this before buying a new cable. Also, do not lose the spring.
