I’ve lost more succulents than I care to admit to "universal" potting soils that stay damp for way too long. This was my first time buying soil for succulents, and I was really happy with the Back to the Roots mix. When I opened the bag, it did feel slightly damp, but that’s normal for organic soil and it didn’t smell bad at all. The texture is light and drains well, which is important for succulents. I did notice some small twigs and bits of bark, but after learning more, I found out that’s actually good—it helps with airflow and keeps the soil from getting compacted. My plants have been settling in nicely, and I feel confident as a first-time grower that this was the right choice. I also love that it’s organic and made in the USA. I'm a beginner with this plant stuff. I started with succulents and air plants or the succulents this product is perfect I add a little perlite plant the plants cross my fingers then hope for the best. Try to educate myself and figure out the right way to do things. In the past I've had a black thumb I'm hoping with Amazon's help and Alexa to turn it into a green thumb.
