Herbatint 4M Mahogany Chestnut Brown Permanent Hair Dye, Women's Hair Color

Mahogany was exactly what I wanted. Best part it's not bright red, it doesn't burn your scalp and it doesn't have a strong smell! Beautiful! Best gray coverage I have ever bought. Will definitely keep buying this brand. I am so in love with this color! Oh also, it has more in the bottle than your typical OTC hair dyes.

Omg this color is bomb totally covered my grey hair I am about 25% grey. Nothing worked. The gel is sublime and comes out of a color bottle easily. The red is rich with deep brown tones. (The red is NOT ELECTRIC. WHICH AS YOU AGE AND GREY LOOKS TERRIBLE both when freshly colored and when it grows out ) . My only beef is the conditioner it's in a hard to open rip package when your hands are wet it isn't fun to open also it dosent work well and there isn't enough of it. I used my own after I rised Herbatint out. Which I shouldn't have to do. Please add a better conditioner with more product and a twist top. I love this hair color!

Wonderful Henna based hair dye. My only complaint is that it does not come with an applicator brush or a cap to put over your hair. If your hair is longer than shoulder length, you will need two boxes of this to do your hair. The kit has three settings: roots, short and long. My hair is shoulder length and I chose to mix the contents of both bottles and it proved a perfect amount. I forgot to take before and after shots and it was a week ago when I dyed my hair, but the color is a beautiful ruby chestnut. I will be using this one again. Easy to mix and instant to use no need to wait for it all to cure. Easy to apply, although I would suggest getting your own rubber gloves because the throwaway pair that comes with the kit are practically useless. For those who have died their hair a lot, you are probably familiar with the range of thickness in most of these kits. This was a gelatinous pudding like texture that did not run down my neck and face while it sat for 30 minutes in my hair..

Nothing natural about this Dye!!! Strong chemical smell and made my hair super fine! Save your hair and don't experiment with this dye!

I was searching for a cruelty-free hair color that looked good and was affordable. (I should have included ease of use, difficulty of application, and level of conditioning in my search) My natural color is dark brown/black. I am starting to gray subtley and I wanted to cover some of it as well as add a reddish/burgundy tint to my hair. My first problem with this product is that you need a separate mixing bowl and haircolor application brush before you even begin. The mixture is runny and messy, and with my shoulder length hair it took almost 40 minutes to get it on while having to stop and clean up as it dripped everywhere. I waited another 40 minutes for the color to take, and I couldn't leave the bathroom because again, the mixture is too drippy. (The leftovers thickened slightly after sitting in the bowl for a couple of hours) My new growth and grays took the color okay. The longer parts of my hair and the back of my hair that had the least amount of time don't have as dramatic of an effect. Unfortunately, my hair felt dry and damaged after using this product. I could tell right away, even after putting on the conditioner and waiting for 5 minutes then rinsing. I feel like my hair needs a deep conditioning, or hot oil treatment. I'm biracial and I've always had a smoother texture and large curl to my natural hair. (I do not, nor have I ever used chemical straighteners on my hair) I rarely use heat, and I only dye my hair a few times a year. After my hair was rinsed I used the same leave-in conditioners that I normally use, but my hair still felt drier than usual and tangled easily, which is not my normal. I let my hair air dry and then later used an olive oil heat protectant spray and a flat iron to straighten it. That helped with the tangles some. I will probably not buy this again because I don't want it to damage my hair any further. It's a week since I used this dye. The gray coverage was decent, but the trade of having damaged and tangled hair wasn't worth it in my opinion.

I happen to be very allergic to hair color. So much so that my hair falls out. I've been using this for the past 2 years and I find it gentle. No big ammonia smell. And you won't stink up your bed pillow at night. The color is fantastic. I used the Mahogany Chestnut. It provides a nice dark base but the burgundy color comes through in the most beautiful way like you were born with it. And you will notice the highlights as your hair dries. Remember ALWAYS do a color test first to test for allergies before using. I bought the Herbatint normalizing shampoo in order to preserve the color.

I have been using Herbatint for 12 years since my BC treatment as I am allergic to many ingredients in other hair dyes. However I always do a patch test 48 hours before applying

Used this product for a year now, bought because it is vegan. No issues with it, I have chin length hair and get two full applications easily with it Delivery was really fast and much appreciated
