I am 250LB and I think this is a great well built bench. I curl120lb and ther is no problem of movement. I think it is talking about curl weight.

I used this when I was 250# without issue. I'd guess that number refers to the rated strength of the welds.

Q: Are the adjustments spring loaded that lock into place or a screw that you have to tighten?

I just screws in; but has a nice sized gripper
