Took a while to build which was awesome! My fat fingers broke a couple of pieces but that’s more because I’m not good with tweezers.

It was my fifth house. Please, don't spend your money. The quality is so poor. I was not able to put the parts together it literally was braking down in my hands. As my previous sets have additional parts that set doesn't have at all. So one small piece is broken it means you can make whole big piece. Eventually, I gave up and put everything in the garbage bag. Such as washing money and time.

After countless hours, I have finally completed the Huoluo Castle! It is absolutely stunning. It has been the most challenging miniature house kit that I have built to date, but worth all the effort. The kit came well stocked with just about everything that you need. There is even two different tubes of glue. I would recommend having a razor knife, you will definitely need it, and a wire stripper. You will also need two AAA batteries and a lot of patience. The pieces are very delicate. I did not use my fingers to pop them out of their boards. I used my razor to finish cutting them out. This ensured that they did not break. All items will require being glued together. The paper that is used as decoration throughout either has to be cut out, or is perforated. There are no stickers. When It came time to assemble the rooms, I found that the boards lined up well. There are fourteen lights in this house, so there is a good bit of electrical work involved. I would recommend waiting to glue the bathroom vanity down until you run the wires down by its side. I had a hard time getting them in place since I had already glued mine as per the instructions. I would also recommend not pushing the little tabs (part D16) as far in as they will go on part A4. You will end up running a lot wire through these (mainly the upper floor) and you will not be able to fit them all in if they are in too far. I would like to state that I did add my own personal touches to this project. I painted the vanity, the magic wand stands, the tub tray, and cash register gold with acrylic paint that I had on hand. I also added some additional beads on the vanity. You will not find this in the instructions. I am so happy to add this house to my collection!

Summer is here, and this is just what's needed to keep my teenager busy for the summer. She spends at least 1-2 hours a day fully engaged in this project. The pieces are well constructed, so it doesn't easily break when taking them off the board. Glue is not included, so make sure you have your glue ready. The directions are easy to follow and clear. So far, everything she's put together is beautiful...can't wait to see the final product in a few weeks.

If your up for a challenge, in the end it's worth it it. However getting there is a little tough. The directions were not always easy to understand and some of the pieces are really fragile.

Im having a lot of fun building this kit. Unfortunately the past month I’ve had a lot of work travel and this isnt a travel friendly. Especially for plane travel. The pieces are laser cut and have a good fit. So far everything fits nicely. Parts have clear graphics on them. Everything I needed to work on the build is included. Its a lot of fun and will look good on my shelf in the living room. I like to mix these sets in with my books. Clear instructions.

Definitely don’t do this one if it’s your first time. Things don’t click together, everything is glued so having to wait for things to dry drags out the build and the wires is one of the hardest to complete. You have loose wires, best to place the wire and connect it to the batter one at a time. I didn’t do this all the wires are the same color.

Betrifft das Modell Huoluo Castle Die vielen negativen Rezensionen kann ich zwar verstehen, wenn ich sie auch nicht für gerechtfertigt halte. Warum? Natürlich gibt es Firmen, die Miniaturmodelle anbieten, die für den Anwender kaum Schwierigkeiten enthalten und eine Schwierigkeitsstufe 0 (von 0-3) darstellen. Dort sind alle Teile voll bedruckt und was es zu bekleben gibt, wird als bedruckte, komplett ausgestanzte, Selbstklebeedikette zu Verfügung gestellt. Die Holzteile, wie auch die bedruckten Ediketten, können ohne Werkzeug ganz leicht herausgelöst werden. Fast alles ist nur gesteckt und hält von sich aus stabil. Der Bauaufwand ist niedrig, Werkzeug und Kleber sind praktisch nicht notwendig und man ist schnell mit dem Aufbau fertig. Für das Erfolgserlebnis ist der Aufwand äußerst gering. Dieses aber als Bewertungsmaßstab zu nehmen, halte ich dann einfach für falsch oder zumindest für ungerechtfertigt. Anders verhält es sich nämlich mit diesem Modell. Es ist ganz klar eine ganz andere Schwierigkeitsklasse. Hier würde ich die Schwierigkeitsstufe auf 3 (von 0-3) sehen. Nicht umsonst ist die Altersangabe auf 14 Jahre hoch gesetzt. Wer aber auf Grund von fehlender Erfahrung und Übung, nicht vorhandenem Werkzeug und Klebern und zusätzlich einer Sehschwäche, also auf Grund eigener Unzulänglichkeit, dieses Modell dann negativ bewertet, der tut dem Modell einfach unrecht. Für "Profis" ist halt auch das Know-How und der Weg das Ziel. Das muss einem bei diesem Modell klar sein. Wer sich darauf nicht einlassen will oder kann, sollte von diesem Modell lieber Abstand nehmen, statt aus Frust negativ zu bewerten. An diesem Modell ist jedenfalls vieles sehr filigran und muss mit ein wenig extra Werkeug ver- und bearbeitet weden. Es wird deutliche Erfahrung und Geschicklichkeit, auch im Umgang mit Werkzeugen und Klebern, vorausgestetzt. Dabei ist man bei präziser und bedachter Arbeitsweise dann aber auch sehr lange mit dem Modell beschäftigt. Diese zeitaufwändige Beschäftigung des Bauens ist hier ganz klar ein Teil des Ziel. - Grundsätzlich sollte eine gute und starke Beleuchtung wie auch ein ausreichend großer und planer Arbeitstisch beim Bau vorhanden sein. - Alle Holzteile und Papierdruckteile müssen/sollten mit einem filigranen Schneid- und Bastelmesser herausgelöst werden. Dann brechen oder zersplittern sie auch nicht. - Die kleinen Kesselwände aus Holz, die zum Verkleben gebogen werden müssen, sind zuvor mit Heißwasser zu behandeln, da sie ansonsten brechen (dann mit Sekundenkleber kleben, da Weißleim wegen der Feuchtigkeit nicht trocken wird). Es gibt dazu auch zwei Teile extra zum Testen. - Alle Teile müssen/sollten verklebt werden. Steckungen sind meist nicht vorhanden. Dies würde zwar vieles bei der Positionierung vereinfachen, aber es geht eben auch ohne. - Die Laserschlitze sind sehr dünn, so dass man zum Durchtrennen der Haltestege nur mit der Spitze eines dünnen Bastel-Messers, am besten von Ober- und! Unterseite, dazwischen kommt. - Viele Dinge sind hier so klein, dass man ohne den Einsatz von einer guten Pinzetten für's Handling nicht auskommt. - Bei den elektrischen Leitungen nebeneinandergelegt! sind Hellgrau von Weiß bei guter Beleuchtung schon klar zu unterscheiden. Ansonsten wäre vielleicht mal der Gang zum Optiker angesagt. Gleiches gilt, wer die dünnen Markierungslinien nicht erkennen kann. Grundsätzlich kann eine Lesebrille, die es auch im Supermarkt gibt (dort unbedingt die Stärke testen), als Lupenersatz sehr hilfreich sein. Ich selbst habe mir nur zum Bau solcher Modelle tatsächlich auch eine derartige Lesebrille extra zugelegt. Als Werkzeug wurde eine A3 Schneidunterlage, ein Stahllineal, zwei Bastelmesser (eines für Holz, eines für Papier), eine starke, aber sehr spitze Pinzette, eine extra Nadel zum Anritzen der Papierknicklinien, das mitgelieferte Schmirgelplättchen, einen Elektronik-Seitenschneider und eine Drahtbiegezange verwendet. Als Kleber wurde Ponal Express (umgefüllt in ein Fläschchen mit Nadeldüse) praktisch für alle Verklebungen und Fixierungen verwendet. Dieser wird nach kompletter Aushärtung auch komplett durchsichtig. Nur zur schnellen Fixierung kam manchmal ein Sekundenkleber-Gel (welches nicht! weiß wird) und ein Aktivator, beides mit Pinsel, zum Einsatz. Alles zusammen sieht man im Bild. Ein Lötkolben und Zubehör (samt Löterfahrung) sind eigentlich nicht notwendig, aber dennoch vorteilhaft. Da das bei mir vorhanden ist, habe ich natürlich die elektrischen Verbindungen gelötet und nicht nur verdrillt. Wie man sieht, wird hier einiges an Erfahrungen vorrausgesetzt, da Erfahrungdetails und Tipps in der Bauanleitung nicht aufgeführt werden. Daher auch die hohe Schwierigkeitseinstufung meinerseits. Bringt man die aber mit und stellt der Zeitvertreib des Bauens dieses Modells das Hauptziel dar, dann kommt man mit Projekt gut zurecht und die wunderbare Optik des Gebäudes ist dann eine tolle anhaltende Belohnung.

Superb assembly kit, very intricate details, challenging for most people (esp my wife who loves these models!). Patience is required, and also some extra glue as the supplied glue is not as good as the UHU clear that we ordered (also available on Amazon fyi).

I loved these models, lots of patience needed, small pieces should be removed by cutting with a scalpel or model knife. A set of modelling tools is highly recommended as parts are very small and some experience of minature model making is required. Parts that seem not to fit easily (very few) just need careful sanding. I have now made 4 of these and assembled into a diorama. Looks very good. There is no information regarding scale, but figurines of about 1:50 are almost OK. I am 82 and love model building, shaking hands are not recommended for these models though.
