Definitely a strong fishy/ocean smell. My cats tend to be a bit picky about it, but depending on the flavor of wet food it's mixed into, they will eat it. Sometimes I'll mix some Churu in to the food as well to help mask the flavor/smell. The jar is secure and they included a scoop. Only time will tell if it offers joint support as claimed.

I'm seriously impressed and so pleased to have found this product for my girl!! I figured it would be beneficial even if minimally but this powder has exceeded my expectations 100%. 11yr old miniature schnauzer injured her back being a party girl last August. Vet was great got her all straightened out but I started to notice her getting tired after shorter walks about a month ago and a few very minor maybe/what if signs and of course now it's an IVDD diagnosis. Started researching, found this product and it's been exactly 1wk of regular use, truly 1wk exactly, using suggested double dose to start, split into 2 meals. Well!!! For 2 days now this girl will not stop!! She is zooming here, there, everywhere!!! I know this will not correct IVDD but she is clearly soo much more comfortable and energetic. Also...she absolutely loves the taste, didn't dig right into the first two bowls but she's back to begging for breakfast which she stopped doing because of lack of exercise. Her silver gray coat is super shiny as well!! Really really awesome stuff! Edited to add a note: If your dog is throwing up or having diarrhea from this product they likely have a shellfish allergy, that's not the products fault.

It has helped greatly. He has been more active.

I have a dog that’s getting ready to turn 12. He’s had a hind leg skip all his life that vets said was not a big deal over the years. It’s turned into a limp and he groans when getting out of bed. I’ve been trying lots of different things like glucosamine supplements and jope over the years, but nothing seemed to really help. I figured I would try this. I’ve been adding half a scoop (the scoop is a very small spoon) because he’s half the weight of the smallest dosage listed. After almost 3 weeks, he actually seems to be moving better and the groaning is rare now. I’m cautiously optimistic that this powder is really helping him to be more comfy. I sprinkle it on his food in the evening and he doesn’t seem to mind the taste (he can be picky). So far, I’m very happy that this is helping him with his achy joints. I recommended it to a friend who has a 4 year old pup with hip issues. Hopefully it helps her pup, too!

Very fine powder..yes it has a slight fish smell. My 13 year old doesnt mind it. If your dog starts rejecting it..mix with some warm beef broth.
