Not as Pictured
The ADA909 is okay, and it mounts well in 3/4" plywood after you rip out the thread inserts and put wood screws through the screw holes. It is not as pictured, however, and is not shielded. It is also not 12" overall. It is 11.5".

Perfect for DIY & modified Raspberry pi cases.
I wanted to house a Raspi 4 in a desktop computer case as I wanted to connect it to a bunch of old IDE devices (via USB converters). As the metal case severely affected my WIFI signal (pretty much killed it) I needed to use the on-board LAN port. As I didn't want a bunch of cables running inside the case to get to the PI, and I wanted this to be a easy to move / use as a real desktop machine, I modified the case to house the Pi and relocated the ports to the rear of the case. The PSU was connected to a 'breakout board' and this was used to power the Pi and devices, and switch the machine on / off.I mounted this extension to a sheet of aluminium covering the location where the PC motherboard IO shield would usually be located, and I also used this location for the two HDMI headers (mini to full size via adaptors), plus two USB headers (one USB3 and one USB2). Works perfectly, you would not be able to tell this wasn't a real PC desktop running Linux. This extension cable simply plugs into the Ethernet port like a normal cable, and the other end can be mounted wherever you require. Simple, but very useful.

Build your project
This item is a must have if you're building any project and you want to enclose the motherboard inside a cabinet or case.I personally used to get the RPi connection on the back panel of a custom made case in acrylic, it works perfectly.Absolutely suggested item
