Must have
These 3โ x 4โ hemostatic gauze are a must have for your wilderness first aid kit. Itโs a quick way to control bleeding and comes packaged in a nice vacuum sealed plastic package. There are four notches to be able to easily open this gauze even in cold conditions, or with gloves on. Itโs very compact and makes it easy to pack away. The hemostatic agent does a great job of quickly clotting up blood from significant wounds. The fact that itโs already impregnated in the gauze, allows you to wrap the wound and not have to keep putting fresh gauze on top.

The completion of your cheap IFAK.
I consider hydrostatic gauze a must, not an option, in an IFAK. The overwhelmingly vast majority, however, donโt include any. These are less expensive than the brand Quik-Clot, and are the answer to how to get a cheaper kit that includes it.

Hope we donโt need it!
I purchased this to keep in a bleed stop kit for our church. Packaging is of high quality and is compact for small go kits. I just hope me or my team do not have to use it. If that needs does arise, I feel confident knowing that we have this in the kit.

Essential Addition for Our First Aid Kit
I recently added the Survivex Hemostatic Gauze to our prepping first aid box, recognizing its potential value in managing severe bleeding during emergencies. This quick blood clotting gauze, measuring 3 inches by 4 feet, is designed to help with various wound treatments, and I've spent some time evaluating its features and effectiveness. One of the most significant advantages of this hemostatic gauze is its fast-acting design. The gauze is specifically formulated to promote rapid blood clotting, which can be crucial during traumatic situations. After reading the product specifications, I felt confident that this would be a reliable option for handling serious injuries, making it a must have for our first aid supplies. The lightweight and compact packaging also makes it easy to store and carry in our emergency kit without taking up too much space. Another notable feature is the ease of use. The gauze can be quickly applied directly to the wound, and I appreciate that it doesn't require special training to use effectively. For individuals who may need immediate assistance, this accessibility makes all the difference in a critical situation. The length of the gauze also allows for versatile wrapping, which can be beneficial for a range of injuries. One concern however is that while it is designed for serious wounds, the packaging does not include comprehensive instructions. As someone preparing for emergencies, having clear guidelines on how best to apply the gauze would have been helpful, especially for those who may not have prior experience with hemostatic products. The Survivex Hemostatic Gauze has quickly become a key component of our first aid box. Its rapid blood clotting capabilities and straightforward application make it a valuable tool for handling severe bleeding situations. I would recommend this gauze to anyone looking to enhance their emergency preparedness and ensure they are equipped to manage trauma effectively.

Excellent addition to safety kits
I got the Survivex Hemostatic Gauze for my son who owns an arborist (tree care) company. He has two crews of employees working with potentially dangerous equipment like chainsaws and chippers. The gauze is packaged in 5 separate sealed bags so he has put a couple in each of his safety kits. So far he has not opened nor used this product which is ideally the way things will stay.

Finally, a decent price on a serious first aid product
Simply calling it gauze makes it sound simple, and as a wrap, it of course i,s but what it provides is not as simple as placing some normal gauze on a wound and applying pressure. With something like this, it's always wise to do some research to understand when something like this needs to be pulled out of a first aid kit and not just normal gauze. At this price, one does not want to waste its capabilities to save a lot of grief for a mere booboo. ๐ฉ A product like this does have an expiry date, unlike standard gauze. The date showing on mine is 02/2028, which means I have a couple of years before I need to replace them. One thing that isn't in the description is that the gauze is treated with hemostatic agents that are a granular powder on the exterior or embedded in a dressing such as gauze and sponge. The description states that it is 3 inches wide by four feet long. I've not pulled one out of its pouch as I do not want to waste any, but with past training, using gauze that offers this length can be a real advantage. It can be folded over as needed to cover the length of a wound, or because of its length, it can be wrapped around a limb as needed. โบ The pouches are made easy to open. There are tear strips at the top, so no tools need to be used to extract them. I like the nice slim pouches; they fit easily into a variety of first aid kits. We've added two of these to the first aid bag in each of our vehicles, and the fifth is in the home first aid kit. Because the pouches are so slim, they easily fit, which meant that nothing had to get squished in order to accommodate their addition to the kits. We've also ordered two more (there are two options for buying these here on Amazon), and one went into each of our BoBs. While this will be a real blessing in the event of a serious wound, just having it in an emergency bag doesn't mean that it will do what's needed. People need to take the time and get first aid certified so they have an understanding of how to treat/attack various injuries instead of scratching their heads, wondering what needs to be done next.

Haven't used, but packaging seems optimistic
Having worked with this type of material in a medical setting, I was interested in products aside from the ones I typically use. This would be one of them, as I am more accustomed to using 'Combat Gauze', which also contains a hemostatic agent. However, my experience for uses are for trauma that is much greater in severity than the cuts and lacerations that this is geared towards. Given that there is only one package per puchase, I haven't used this yet, but what I can say is that the cut out rip tabs are decent in providing a weakened edge for quicker and easier access. Additionally the package being bright red is great for visibility and ease of identification. So overall package wise, it is good. However the use case advertised is different than what I am used to. Hopefully I do not need to use this in my everyday life.
