Will this product help combat laundry issues associated with hard water?

Actually, yes. It will reduce the amount of hard water deposits left on clothes, thus making them slightly softer.

Does this remove Perfume smell?

It removes smelly shoe odors , and other odors so I'm sure it would probably eliminate perfume scents when used .

Do you use this as a fabric softener replacement or is an every once and a while product when clothes need a freshen up?

This is intended to replace your fabric softener. From the description on the page: “DEEP CLEANSING FABRIC RINSE: Downy Rinse & Refresh replaces your liquid fabric softener and acts as a laundry detergent booster…” They don’t tell you how much to use but it’s not a lot. I learned through trial & error, you only need about a capful, if that. It’s also VERY sticky so if you use too much or spill a drip somewhere you’ll want to wipe it up right away, or add an extra rinse cycle.

Anyone else notice suds in the rinse cycle once this product was dispensed? Mixing with plain water has same result, lots of suds.

I have used for many months and have not... until the last bottle (June 2023). I thought it was pulling reside from laundry until I added water to it in a clean container and it was all sudsy. Maybe a bad batch?

Nice!

I’ve been using regular creamy textured fabric softeners for years and having to deal with the dispenser getting gunky, clogged and moldy. And the scented ones were too overpowering with the smell triggering allergic reaction. Then I found this clear fabric softener, tried it and love it! I was a bit worried that the scent would be overwhelming as we have allergies to certain scents. No worries here! The scent is very subtle and so far we have had no adverse reactions! It seems to do a good job with softening the fabric. The dispenser no longer leaves a gunky residue and much easier to keep clean! Very happy with this product!

Not for sensitive skin

Smells nice. I don’t usually use fabric softeners and won’t continue to. I have sensitive skin and the backs of my hands broke out in raised welts for a month. It also caused the dryer lint to be sticky and hard to remove from lint trap.
