OMRON Platinum Blood Pressure Monitor & Upper Arm Blood Pressure Cuff

I’ve been using the OMRON Platinum monitor for a while now, and it has been a fantastic addition to my home health routine. The setup was straightforward, and I feel confident in the readings because of the brand's reputation and clinical validation. ​What I appreciate most: ​The display is clear and easy to read: It shows all the necessary information, including pulse and history, at a glance. ​App connectivity: It’s incredibly convenient to have my readings synced to the app, making it much easier to share my progress with my doctor during checkups. ​Peace of mind: The AFib detection feature provides an extra layer of health monitoring that gives me peace of mind. ​If you are looking for a high-quality, dependable blood pressure monitor for home use, I highly recommend this one. It’s worth the investment for the accuracy and ease of use.

Bought this unit because the one we were currently using was never very accurate. But per Consumer Reports, this unit was rated top of the line for accuracy. We were not disappointed. First, you must read the directions for initial set-up and to properly understand how to use this product. Second, while you can easily use it to take a single reading of your blood pressure and heart rate, it allows you to take 3 separate/consecutive readings and then it provides you an average reading of your Blood Pressure and heart rate; this method provides an exceptionally consistent and seemingly more accurate readings. Third, for either user 1 or user 2, it shows you the most recent result and the prior result, side by side for easy comparison. Fourth, it comes with 4 each Duracell AA batteries, which I consider one of the best batteries on the market; many products out there that include batteries use a cheaper brand. This unit is more expensive than many Blood Pressure Monitors for home use, but accuracy of your reading is certainly essential, and this unit provides said accuracy.

Best BP Monitor. Excellent product, easy to use, good large display. A must buy if you need to monitor hypertension and have reliable readings. Did a lot of research before buying, and cardiologist recommend: "stick to upper arm monitors with arm cuff for household use. I am very, very happy with my blood pressure machine. It records my blood pressure each time on my telephone. It works very well. It saved my life. I was unsure what was going on, so I decided to take my blood pressure. It would not register a blood pressure. Instead, it told me I was in a fib. I went to the emergency room immediately.

This is the nicest blood pressure monitor I’ve owned. The semi-rigid d-ring cuff fits comfortably and stays in shape. No bunching of material around the metal d-ring, no issues with the cuff not staying flat around your arm. The machine is quiet and fast. No annoying beeps. An AC adapter, 4 Duracell AA batteries and a fitted, zippered bag is included. I would suggest using the AC adapter whenever possible. It ensures that the unit receives the full power it was designed for. My measurements are lower when using batteries that are not new. So, yes you get a low battery warning, but from my experience the measurement might already be low compared to using the AC adapter. The unit allows 2 user readings to be automatically stored in the machine’s memory and synched via Bluetooth to the Omron App. It works well and usually synchs automatically. If not, you just tap the synch icon on the app and it’ll synch the readings. The App shows daily, weekly and monthly readings and works well. Apparently you can also synch to the Apple Health app but I have not tried. During initial setup, the unit’s Bluetooth paired immediately and has stayed paired. There is a Guest measurement mode initiated by pressing both user 1 and 2 buttons simultaneously. G (guest) appears and these readings are temporarily and will not go into the machine memory or synch with the app. It’s a nice feature when you want to take a measurement that you might not want to keep or let a guest take a measurement without it affecting your averages. You have to use the Omron App to manually delete individual measurements. It’s a little hidden in the App, but individual measurements can be found and edited on the App menu: You select ‘History’, ‘Blood Pressure’, scroll to bottom and select ‘See all measurements’. You cannot delete single measurements on the unit. However, you can erase all records for each individual user from the machine. The machine by default takes single measurements. If you want to take three successive measurements and get an average (TruRead), you select the user, 1 or 2 and hold the start/stop button for a couple seconds until 3 appears. You can set the time between measurements from 15sec, 30sec, and 1min in the machine setup. The display is very clear and large. It’s great to see the current measurement and for comparison, you see the last measurement on the left. You can also scroll through all the past measurements with the left and right arrows. The Omron Platinum and Omron 10 are almost identical. The Platinum is sold by Amazon. It has a 6yr warranty, an all white unit, D-Ring cuff, morning measurement averages with high readings indicated, and include a zippered case. The Omron 10 is sold at more retailers. It comes with a 5yr warranty, with their ComFit cuff, the unit has a black front, and no zippered case. I would get the Omron Platinum unless the price difference was significant. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this product.

I purchased this product based on a recommendation, and overall, I'm satisfied with its performance. While it occasionally gives readings that seem slightly off, it is accurate and consistent most of the time. It's a reliable product for everyday use.

I'm extremely happy with this OMRON Platinum Blood Pressure Monitor. It's very easy to use, and the readings are quick and consistent. The display is one of my favorite features—it's large, bright, and incredibly easy to read, whether it's daytime or late at night. If you're looking for a reliable blood pressure monitor to use at home, I highly recommend this one. It gives me peace of mind by making it easy to check my blood pressure whenever I need to. The only downside is the price. It's definitely on the expensive side. If OMRON lowered the price by about $25, I think it would be an even better value and an easy recommendation for everyone. Overall, it's an excellent product, and I want to thank OMRON for making such a high-quality monitor. Five stars!

Great unit. Seems reliable. I really like the automatic averaging of three readings. Would recommend this version.

This blood pressure monitor has the soft cuff which makes it much easier to put on your arm compared to the prefixed hard one.

Easy to set up and use right out of the box, batteries were included and a wall adapter too. Very easy to use the app and sync with Apple Health which is what I needed to be able to do.

Wow. "Buy Right, Pay Once." To be fair, it's the first time I've used one of these, but it strikes me as a brilliant machine supported by a flawless app. Everything about it feels like reliable top quality - exactly what I want in a home-use medical instrument. Bothers me a tiny bit the Bluetooth stays on at all times even when machine is "off" - notwithstanding new "low energy bluetooth" technology is a very low parasitic draw, I would still feel much better about the batteries if it would just give up after a few minutes for example. You *can* manually turn the Bluetooth off, but it's a bit of a pain to turn back on every time you want to take a reading (especially if daily), so not worth the effort and I now just leave the Bluetooth on, as it is by default. Overall - spectacular machine, just one very (very) minor tech-nerd type annoyance. Highly recommended for up to 2 users who would like to track their BP and HR at home.

I do NOT recommend this, or any of the "smart" devices with 'Afib' technology, for anyone with minor heart irregularities. This Omron unit, once it detects any indication of irregularity in the heartbeat, displays a large, prominent "AF" indicator with no actual reading of the systolic/diastolic blood pressure measures. You are not presented with any proper actionable information other than that "AF" which useless to those with prior knowledge of their condition. Better to stick with a "dumb" unit which will give some indication of your actual blood pressure.
