I normally keep an ounce or two of 90% isopropyl alcohol to sanitize the drinking tip and any tubes I may use when setting up different systems. After use and before long term storage (especially if you filtered a lot of biologically questionable water), it is recommended to run a sanitizing solution of bleach/water (1tbsp plain, unscented bleach to 1 gallon water) through the filter then rinse very well with potable water, shake out vigorously and allow to air dry for several days before capping and placing into storage.
