I did not use these cleaning tablets to clean a water bottle but I did use them to clean my stainless steel Yeti coffee cup. I drink strong black coffee and had never washed my cup out so the inside was completely black/brown with a sludge built up inside that I couldn’t scrape out or remove with a scouring pad. I bought these to see if they would work as advertised. I was unimpressed when they arrived in such a small container and the size of the tablets, due to how it appeared online. But I will say that big things come in small packages and I am grateful that they do not take up much space in the cabinet. I filled the cup up with hot water and placed two tablets inside and placed the lid on it. After leaving it for a little while, I poured it out and the inside of my cup looked brand new. I was amazed at how well they worked without any harsh chemicals or bad odor. The ingredients are food grade ingredients that will not harm you.

Just finished using the last two tablets in the jar and it lasted since I purchased on 12/28/24. I typically use 1-2 tablets once a week and sit overnight to clean my Simple Modern stainless tumbler in between washing once a week in the dishwasher and the rest of the day’s washing by hand with soap and hot water. I only drink hot black tea in the tumbler so these tablets help keep it bright and clean from the tea stains and bacteria that can build up from normal use. These tablets only have 3 ingredients and are the same ingredients that the Simple Modern company tablets contain at a cheaper price. I find that any other tablets on the market have either harsher chemicals or ingredients that should not be ingested when used and these tablets are safe and effective. Yes, they are small in size but still do a great job! 1/30/26, update review…nearly a year later and I am still purchasing these tablets and they still keep my Simple Modern tumbler very clean. When I don’t feel like hand washing the tumbler, I throw in 2 tablets with warm water overnight and the next morning the tumbler is ready to use. No smells, no bad taste, just make my tea and I’m ready to go! I still recommend and just ordered some more!

Typically I would use bleach to clean my reservoirs, but it is fairly powerful and leaves an aftertaste if you aren't very careful. These have no such problem - one or two tabs, leave it overnight, takes care of everything for you. Gets rid of the biofilm that may have built up over months of storage, helps ensure that even after you've used your cleaning kit to get rid of visible buildup, you don't have other harmful organic particles floating around in there. You can still use chlorine bleach on particularly tough cases, but one or two of these per year will do the trick on anything you usually use. Wouldn't recommend using this to preserve water, though - they are a bit too strong for that. I use Katadyn Micropur MP1 tabs (ASIN: B000H3DNF4) for that purpose.

I have a horrible habit of waiting several days to clean our water bladders after getting back from a long hike. In turn, they get funky much quicker than normally. My son was complaining that his water tasted “funny.” I tried it and agreed it tasted really nasty, kinda like sulfur water.. Got home from our hike and eventually cleaned out the water bladders (fashionably several days later) to discover his was slimy inside! Yuck! After scrubbing it with a brush and hot water, the slime still wasn’t budging. So I threw 2 tablets in it with some hot water, swished it around until the tablets were dissolved, and let it sit while doing bedtime with the kids. It sat for probably about an hour (you don’t have to wait that long, it’s just what worked for my schedule.) After emptying the water, the slime was all gone!!! I thoroughly rinsed it with warm water a few times, filled it with fresh water, and replaced the tube to try it. Tasted like the first few uses! There was no funky taste from the tablets or residue left behind.

Works very well. 2 to 3 applications for cleaning an old thermos.

I bought these as a cost effective alternative to the name-brand. However, these are less effective; I had to use three of these to get close to the cleaning power of one of the name-brand version. I will go back to the others as they are easier to use, clean better, and just as inexpensive.

Fast and easy to use! I couldn’t find the right brush that’ll reach and properly clean the bottom of our Corkcicles so this was perfect and no weird after taste.

I’m a lazy girl when it comes to cleaning my water bottle so it’s very helpful to be able to drop one of these in, give it a quick scrub with a bottle brush and be done in about a minute. Tablets may be an expensive way of cleaning but they are helping me keep on top of it.

I used 2 tablets for my yeti cup and the brown tea stains came right off. I just added boiling water and dropped the tablets in and waited an hour. Looks like a brand new cup.
