This thing is great! For years I used disposable razors because I tried a foil style electric razor and found that it irritated my skin. The old style gave me acne something terrible. So, I avoided shaving and looked borderline homeless at times. I saw this and figured I'd give it a try, after reading many reviews of various shavers. This thing shaves close! Like as good or better than a razor and no nicks or cuts. It charges up and keeps the charge for a long time. I shave every 2 days and I have 60% left after charging two months ago! You can use it in the shower! I use it with Cremo shave cream in the shower and it works great. It comes with a charger and a cleaning pod. Cleaning is super easy, just a press of a button. You can run it under water etc. Way more hygienic than the old models. The included travel case fits well and protects the shaver. It has some whacky app settings, but I didn't set that nonsense up. I don't want my shaver connecting to anything via Bluetooth. So, I didn't set that up. This thing is pricey but well worth it. I wish I had purchased this sooner.

This is the best electric shaver I have ever had. It works really well. I shave with it every day. Great shave. Very close and comfortable. Charges really well. Cleans very quickly and well. Has a fun head cleaning thing that you put it in and turn it on. Quiet and easy to use. You can download an app to rate your shaving style. Lights to tell you how well your doing. Lots of bells and whistles. I'm 68, if I don't know how to shave myself by now, an app really won't help me!!! It really is great!!!!!

Best electric razor I have ever had (and I have had about everyone of them at one time or another!) I use Cremo Refreshing Mint shave cream and water; I rinse the razor often and clean it in the cleaning pod about every 2nd or 3rd day. I have been using it about a month now and it still looks new like it just came out of the box! Shaves very close with virtually no razor burn or blemishes left like I got with a blade. If you are tired of razor burn with a blade and still want a great shave that lasts all day, this will do it for you. I also highly recommend the cleaning pod and their cleaning solution. I only have to change the solution every 2 months so it is very cost effective for the great cleaning job it does and very easy to do! Battery life for me is about two weeks and I shave everyday. I was a little skeptical at first with the cost because I was already using a Phillips Prestige and wasn't sure it would really be much different, but finally decided to go for it when it came on sale for 30+% off. In my opinion, the Ultra is a lot quicker and catches the whiskers much better (my beard grows in all directions!), than the older Prestige. I also like the light ring around the head that coaches you on the right pressure - has made a huge difference in how well the razor cuts and how long it takes to complete a shave.

After using a foil shaver since my first electric shaver I was very surprised, and initially skeptical of rotary shavers for my face. However I purchased a Philips Head Shaver and had the closest shave of my head I have experienced without using a blade razor and foam, so I decided to give this very hyped shaver a go. I was very pleasantly surprised with the result. After using a Braun Series 7 and a Panasonic ARC 5 and having what I thought was a 'reasonable' shave, this shaver outperformed both on my face! I was very impressed and have retired foil shavers for now. The handle is comfortable although the size and shape of the head took some time to get used to. The sound of the shaver is very quiet and far less than the head shaver and two foil shavers that I have, which made me think initially that perhaps it would tug at my stubble rather than cut it, but the blades do an amazing job with little to no irritation, with only minor rash appearing on my throat, but then I was probably pressing too hard. (learning curve between foil and rotary). I would recommend purchasing an option with the cleaning bath/receptacle, as to properly 'clean' the heads with a lubricating and disinfecting fluid it is a necessary option, imo. Just flipping the blades gives easy access to initial hair removal, but to properly clean the rotary blades, a fluid is necessary. It charges very quickly and after a week of daily shaving and cleaning it is still around 80%, but still too early to honestly gauge the battery life, but overall the power to do daily shaves on a reasonably dense beard stubble is more than adequate. I cannot gauge its durability yet but will see if the 6 month blade replacement recommendation is accurate in spring, when I remove the winter beard. Overall I an pleased with this purchase and if you can get it on special, I think you will enjoy both the shave and the value.

I purchased this EP9402/86 because I wanted to compare the shave to my SP9841/80 prestige shaver, I like them both , they both shaves really good, but I will have to say I think the new I9402/86 shaves really close on my face and I’ve used it on my head and it shaves my head nice and close a very smooth fast shave although i’m still in the testing stage to see if it’s a keeper or return it back. So far i’m leaning towards keeping it because I love how close it shaves my head and how smooth it is. Still adjusting to the shaving pressure with the light that shows how much pressure your applying, run time is awesome plenty of shaving use in one full charge, 5 shave modes I really like that because I can pick a different cycle depending on my shave, which I wet shave only because it gives me the best closest shave. Overall it’s a nice piece of equipment I’d give it a slight edge over the SP9000 prestige series with the closeness and how smooth it runs, I really like it. Although I’ll use them both. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you purchase one, give it time to do its thing and try a wet shave with shaving cream or gel with two separate passes and you will love it. I haven’t use a regular razor to shave my face or head in over a week because the XP9402/86 is kicking Azz that good and I use it everyday… pull the string and try it out you’ll love it. my rating 10/10

We have a cabin in which the water gets shut off once freezing weather sets in. That said, I needed a less hassle way to shave. I do have an old foil type electric but decided to 'upgrade' to something new. I can't compare it to the prestige, or any of the sub Ultra models only my very old foil type with the original blades. For starters I'm in my mid 60's so I no longer have the banjo skin of my younger years. I find that the shave can be quite good but will take longer than a traditional blade and foam, also it can be a bit irritating on the skin having to go over it so much, no terrible but I notice it. I have the guided ring light on to try an maintain the suggested pressure which seems to me to be fairly forceful, more than I think would be needed, which can obviously be harder on the skin. I shaved with the Ultra and followed up on the jaw area with the old foil, this is probably the harder area of my face to shave whether it be a traditional razor or an electric. After getting what I could with the Ultra I then went over the jaw area with the foil and it did cut the whiskers shorter than what the ultra could do. From, I could still feel slight nubs to smooth. My face cheeks were easier to shave clean with the Ultra, and neither could really get my turkey neck baby smooth, not bad but not traditional razor close either. I do find that a foil razor can be more precise to use if you sport a goat, the head of the rotary razor is large and not as precise to use. As far as the blue tooth connectivity is concerned that would be up to the user I guess, while I did download the app and use it for registering the Ultra I, myself find it to be Meh, I just want to shave and don't need my phone involved with the process. I did get a very good price on the Ultra during a limited time sale so that was why I purchased the Ultra and not the step down Prestige. Considering how they both use the same blades I question how one can claim to shave closer than the other? Keep in mind, I have only used the Ultra a few times and my face and how I use the razor need to adjust (or not). I will try an electric razor product which is supposed to stand the hairs up and provide for some skin lubrication and see if that helps a bit. Both razors (foil and rotary) have about the same amount of skin drag on my face, I thought that the Ultra with its skin glide bump heads would have less friction but no. I will keep the Ultra as it is not a bad electric, probably as good as what is currently available, and I don't think that a foil would perform better (other than my jawline) for my overall face shaving. I would really like to try a top of the line foil to compare against the Ultra but then I would face the wrath of my better half for spending $$$ for S&G's. Update: After using the Ultra for a while now I'm staying with a 3 star rating (at max). If I would have paid the non sale price for this shaver I would have returned it. Just not what I expected, and I'm staying with my initial review. It may work better for younger 'tight skinned' faces, but for me not so much.

I struggled with purchasing another electric shaver that was 3x more expensive than the lesser models available which i had used but with just Ok results. The hype of the newer tech by its maker along with an amazon days discount, ($67.) and some very good in depth user reviews (web search shaver reviews off amazon) helped me to change my mindset and try it. I was pleasantly surprised on the very first shave how much better this shaver was than anything else i have used, excluding safety razors. Pre shave face care is highly recommended, but dry face works well also compared to others! (I have not used Bosch foil as i prefer rotary design). The light ring responds surprisingly well in your mirror as you press & move it as instructed (read the short instructions how to get the best results)! The cleaning pod; turns out to be a great treat (for me anyway) as it immensely reduces your cleaning chore and time. It rinses the hairs out from between blade set. Plus, removing the head rings is more finicky on this design with arthritic fingers, so the pod option is a fantastic option here! When you do understand how it works and assembles, that is when you’ll appreciate (what looks like a questionable option) is really worth its appearance! It has no battery or wire to mess with (uses the shaver power when set on it) and is clean in one minute. Once the app is setup and your shave settings are on target, i doubt you will use it much afterwards. (HINT: Open & quick brush the hair you see before you place it into the pod; you don’t have to do this but i feel the 20sec. spent here will help your pod solution flow at its maximum potential for the best cleaning results by design.) The little brush that comes with it was not ergonomically designed, 😕 and you will probably want to wrap it with some grip tape for best performance. Inserting the pod solution is a little tricky for the FIRST TIME, but again check the fit of your parts beforehand to ease your assembly, and to reduce spilling the solution. Buy the solution in the larger bulk refill size to reduce your costs, if that matters. I realize not everyone will have the same experience, but if youre on the fence as i was, i hope this helps !

I’ve used this series of Norelco shavers for about 15 years. I got 7-8 years out of the first 2 I owned, so this was the only one I was interested in. I must say, I wasn’t disappointed— close shave, very comfortable, does the job quickly, and I get 18-20 shaves off each charge. The first thing I noticed when using it was that it was quite comfortable and smooth. I was also pleased with how quickly it gave me a quick shave. I shave my head and face every day, and it results in a smooth shave in about 3.5 minutes every time. The battery life is very good—I can get 18-20 shaves out of each charge. Speaking of that, it only takes about an hour to charge, and the charging station looks kinda cool. I also got the quick-clean base, which works nicely. In 60 seconds the razor is clean and lubricated. Oh yeah, I also got the “trimmer” head which I use to trim my mustache a couple times a week and it also works well. At first glance, this razor kit may look expensive. However, considering that I will get over 2,500 shaves from it and considering how much disposable razors and shaving cream cost, it’s actually a pretty decent value. Two thumbs up from me for this shaver!

This razor gives me an extremely close shave without irritating my skin, which is the most important thing for me. Even after daily use, my skin feels smooth and comfortable with no redness or razor burn. The heads glide easily and do a great job following the contours of my face, including the harder-to-reach areas. Build quality feels premium, and it handles both short stubble and a few days of growth without any pulling. Battery life is excellent, and the fast charge feature is very convenient when you’re in a rush. The included cleaning pod is a great addition—it makes cleaning, lubricating, and disinfecting the razor effortless and keeps it feeling like new after each use. I’m not crazy about the app telling me how to shave, but it works well as a guide, especially for beginners. One downside is the trimmer head attachment, which I found underwhelming and not nearly as effective as the main shaving heads. Overall, this is a high-end electric shaver that delivers a consistently close and comfortable shave. Pricey, but the performance and comfort make it worth it.

He comprado varias rasuradoras electricas a lo largo de mi vida al menos unas 5. Tengo la barba bastante tupida.... Es la primera vez en mi vida que siento que la rasurada con eléctrica queda tan al ras como con rastrillo. Una vez que encuentras tu velocidad y presión la irritación es mínima. Es fantástico poder utilizar la mientras te bañas y con espuma. Hay algunos puntos donde tengo remolinos cerca del cuello que quedan algunos pelitos que cuestan más trabajo. El monitor de presión y ciclo es muy divertido. Por mucho la mejor que he tenido en mi vida. No es barata pero asume que una buena rasuradora te dura al menos unos 10 años...al menos mi experiencia.
