My daughter wears a 6 or 6/7 in clothes, so I ordered the 6/7. The fit on arrival was just right, with no room for it to shrink. I washed it but line dried, but the material wrinkles a lot, so I tossed it in the dryer on low for about 5 min. This caused it to shrink to where the sleeves are now uncomfortably short on her. I am returning and have reordered the next size up. The quality of the gown is also not great--stray strings hanging off, etc., but it will hold up for awhile. She is wearing it to dress up as a book character and school, and she will wear it as a nightgown too, so it will serve its purpose.
