Does axle diameter matter? i want to install this on a 1995 jeep wrangler yj. says my axle should be 1.13" and this one should support 1.16".

At first glance I would say yes! Your ring gear and pinion ratio matters. As I aways say, first thing first! The YJ 1995 has in front axle the Dana 30 w/ 27 spline and in the back Dana 35 w/ 27 spline, if no mods has been done! If you should swap your axle shaft remember that you will have to re-gear ur diff. If you still have ur stock axle diff this one will fit w/o any problem!!

what gearing is this for? i have 3.55 gears

I am running for 4.88 gears, But the gears you're running are not the issue it's the spleen count on your axle shafts for example I have 4.88 Gears in a Dana 30 with 27 spleen axles in a 2000 Jeep TJ
