Original Transparent Facial Cleansing Bar, 3.5 oz

My MIL is currently battling cancer, and as her treatment has progressed, she’s become extremely sensitive to fragrances and harsh soaps. I decided to try this product on a whim, hoping it might be gentle enough for her skin and it has been an absolute blessing. It doesn’t trigger nausea from strong scents, and it leaves her skin feeling clean, comfortable, and soft. She uses it all over her body and consistently tells me that it doesn’t leave her feeling dry or irritated. Before finding this bar, she would use whatever body wash happened to be in the shower, along with a ZOTE bar, but neither provided the comfort she needed. Now that chemotherapy is taking a greater toll on her body, having a product that makes her feel good and helps her maintain some comfort has truly been a gift. Seeing her happy with something as simple as a cleansing bar means more than I can express. Another huge plus is how long it lasts. She’s been using the same bar for over a month, and it’s still going strong. Unlike some beauty bars that dissolve quickly, this one holds up remarkably well. I’m incredibly grateful I found it, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I've used these orange cars for decades, along with my children, and they seem like the choice for clear skin for our family. They are gentle and soft, work well and last a long time. Great value, easy to take on trips or camping, no trouble to fly with like other liquid cleaners, and not over-drying. Great for sensitive skin.

I was using an antibacterial soap on my face, which apparently was my way of declaring war on my own skin. It burned. Not a nice little “fresh and clean” feeling. I mean my face was standing there like, “Really? This is what we’re doing now?” So I bought this Neutrogena facial cleansing bar, and thank God, the drama stopped. It’s simple. It’s fragrance-free. It cleans my face without making it feel like I just washed with something from under the kitchen sink. No burning, no harsh smell, no nonsense. Just clean skin and a face that no longer feels personally offended. Am I throwing a parade for a bar of soap? No. It’s still soap. It’s not going to change your tax bracket or fix your personality. It just does the job quietly and well. And honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted. If your current soap is treating your face like it owes somebody money, this is a much better direction. Simple, gentle, effective, and no bathroom sink regret.

This soap works well. I docked one star because the soap bar does not last very long and even though the soap is fragrance free the odor from the soap still mildly stung my eyes when I opened them after rinsing my face thoroughly.

I wanted to glycerine shave soap to replace the discontinued Col. Conk glycerine shave soap. I really liked their old soaps (and their plastic resealable containers for travel.) But finding a reasonably priced glycerine soap marketed for shaving proved beyond me. So I figured I'd try a regular old glycerine soap. I remembered Neutrogena from a childhood encounter and it turns out to now be quite inexpensive. So I gave it a shot. What a pleasant surprise! The soap lathers wonderfully, has as close to no scent as I think a soap can get, and works phenomenally for shaving. If you want to use use this wonderful product (which has been available for decades and hopefully will continue to be for more) for shaving you could just wet your face (or wherever) and rub the bar around. But I'd recommend using a shaving brush and an old mug. Yep, any old coffee mug will do. Favor one that's shorter and wider for ease of use though. The put the bar of Neutrogena in the mug and microwave it for about a minute to melt. Unless you're in an industrial setting you could safely start with a minute and a half or more on high, but a minute or so should produce a nice amber fluid in your mug. Let the soap solidify and your ready. I've been using my mug for a while now and I love my new shave soap. I'll need to buy another bar to melt and pour into my old Col. Conk 'disposable' plastic container for travel when the last of that soap runs out. I plan on adding a drop or two of essential oil to that batch just to see how it works out. I'm happy with my unscented shaves at home, but I can't help thinking that bringing along a pleasant scent wouldn't help some hotel rooms. Oh, this Neutrogena soap works great as plain old body soap too. It leaves my face feeling quite pleasant (soft, smooth, clean without drying out, yada yada.) I figure that since it doesn't leave any residue on my razor that it's treating my face just as well. I just wish I could share the shaving part with other folks that miss the old Col. Conk.

This is the original soap. I have used it for years and love the way my face feels after cleaning. It does not leave it greasy or dry. My dermatologist recommended it. So glad he did.
