But, let me start out with saying that I am not a girl who does much to her hair. I'm 31 with stick-straight, fine hair (yet I still have A LOT of hair to my advantage...or disadvantage. Depending on how you want to look at it haha) I chopped off about five inches a couple weeks ago to a lob-style haircut that's about an inch below my chin. My sister kept telling me how cute I looked with curls in my hair. So, I started testing the curls with my flat iron and curling iron. No such luck. I had creases above the curls all around my head and it left me frustrated.My hairstylist then recommended the Beachwaver. However, I was turned away by the price and less than mediocre reviews. So, I saw this little beauty in the other recommended curling irons on Amazon. Saw the more positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. It took me about 20 minutes the first time around but again, I'm not experienced with curling my own hair so I understand it will take a little time to get used to. I provided a picture below of my first attempt. Please note that I brushed through the curls somewhat after they cooled off because they were SUPER tight and bouncy. But, I'm proud of myself! However, I recently learned looking at this page again that us shorter haired ladies can actually just stick the curling iron parallel to our head without sectioning the hair and start curling. I'll try that next time because in my first attempt I was sectioning off pieces which made it take much longer. The only thing I used on my head before curling was a little texturizing spray. I think next time I'll use some of my tousle mousse since the curls fell a little flat after a couple hours (granted, I live in Texas so our humidity is not forgiving in the slightest...at least on my hair it's not). Love the volume and curls this left in my hair. Also left my hair soft and shiny. Im getting married soon and was searching for a curling wand to do my own hair so with all the features I decided on this one. The best part of this hair curler is not once did I burn myself while curling my hair. I can also pick which way I want the curl to go towards or away from my face. It will also beep to tell me when to release my hair from the wand. 3 different heat settings so you choose whats best for your hair I set mine on 450° made a more tight curl. It has a feature on it that automatically shuts off after 40min which is great for me because im so forgetful. A couple neat features for the well organized person it has a velcro strip on the cord that you can wrap the cord up and secure it with the velcro strip so it stays nice and neat then it has a loop you can neatly hang it up on.
