MeacoDry Arete® One 25L Warm Pebble Dual Dehumidifier & HEPA Air Purifier

I got this a while ago but recently got to pull it to proper use. I had a roof leak, and this came in handy to draw water out of the roof and the carpet. I have also put it to use in my living room downstairs which used to smell of damp for some reason. I am shocked at the amount of water it has drawn out of there- and the damp smell is absolutely gone. This is a pricey unit but very well worth the money (in the long run).. great performance but again this is my first dehumidifier - I love that it also purifies the air. If you are undecided, please go for it.It has a good weight to it (that should be expected for a solid unit) and may be difficult for some to move up and down the stairs. It is also not completely silent, but it’s not noisy either. One can get used to the sound. Easy to use also. I cannot speak to durability yet as I have had it for about 9 months only.My unit came without the HEPA filter, and I only realised that after 4 months of purchase. I contacted the seller and they sent one out- good customer service. I think they should make it available for sale on Amazon . Or is there a link to purchase the air filter here now?

This dehumidifier is brilliant. It is simple to use, quite running and collects an unbelievable amount of water from the air. I went for the 25L model as recommended for a five bedroom house. It lives on the landing so I don't have to take it from room to room. We just have to leave the doors open when the rooms are unoccupied. I have humidity sensors in every room including the bathroom. So monitoring the humidity is easy to control. We no longer get condensation on the inside of the windows as we did in the morning before. The house also feels warmer and heats much quicker. The energy costs of running a dehumidifier has always put me off purchasing, but our energy bills have dropped since we started using ours. We leave it on constantly at a 50% humidity setting. It turns itself on and off when the humidity is increased. The heating is set to 20°c as before yet it feels more comfortable and seems warmer than it did before. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

Purchased this last Novemeber, and all through the winter it's been excellent, especially when having to dry washing on indoor clothes airers. It's pulling in excess of 4 litres out whenever we do have to have washing inside to dry, and still pulls a couple of litres per day out during normal days. That's obviously reduced a bit in summer, but we just leave it switched on and set to 50% humidity and let it do it's thing.Here's the best part, although it may not sound it initially....We had a problem with our unit recently. It was not switching on if we did turn it off fully. A couple of times it did work, but then stopped altogether. Contacted Meaco customer support, and they have been superb. Louis whom I have been dealing with arranged for a brand new replacement unit to be shipped out, and the old one collected. All this done with no quibble, no argument or attempt to delay. Just a few questions about the problem, and then a new one delivered within 48 hours, the old unit collected a couple of days later.This is almost as valuable to me as a unit that has no problems. Any piece of equipment can have an issue, it's how that issue is dealt with that's really important, and Louis at Meaco really gave me the best service I've had from any company for a very long time. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any product from them in future, really highly recommended. If you're hesitating about buying one of these, or another Meaco product, don't. Just buy it.And if anyone thinks this might be a fake review, it's not. I'm genuine, on Facebook if you care to look me up.

We have had a dehumidifier for a number of years, but I am now realising how poorly the previous ones must have functioned! This is collecting in gallons of water! We are emptying it ever other day, and it has made a visible difference. No condensation on the windows in the morning, ad the house just feels warmer and drier (we do live in an old house!).Controls easy to use, and I like the night setting to reduce the light. Not the quietest of beasts, but so efficient that I can forgive it that!Highly recommend

Update to last review - now 16 months ownershipThe unit is going well still - looking a bit grubby and it would be good to have user access to clean some of the internal vents. The main issue is still the poor/buggy control code, which I hope they have improved for current models, but too often as previously found it fails to spot a change in humidity when it comes on briefly to check and also at times even when on, the whole bathroom etc can go from dry to 95%, even though the unit is on (fan running) it just fails to resample the significant change - when out of warranty I may replace this controller!This has been in use for about a year and has just worked, and is easy to setup and just leave, periodically emptying it (good size tank) and cleaning the air filter.As in the headline, this is far from silent at times, which Meaco could probably do more to solve, but you will find that it can be a bit noisy at times, as other dehumidiiers are. One of the first fixes I found was to put bubble wrap around the cable holder - which fits loosley and becomes something to vibrate. Other times I just move it a bit or wedge it against a wall with some rubber of similar, changing its natural frequency.Two features I would like them to add: 1) having a memory of the last state if you unplug the unit. Frustratingly it both forgets the last humidity setting, and the last running state, so is unsuitable for use with an external timer. 2) properly periodically check the humidity when deciding when to come on. Far too many times the unit fires up for a few seconds to decide whether the humidity is too high but for some reason, even a significant change is often missed, in which case I just press the off/on button and now it soon recognises the change.

We live in a very old and damp ten roomed cottage on a Welsh mountain. We recently came back from a holiday and the smell of damp was overwhelming. We did a bit of research and Which Magazine recommended the Meaco 25L dehumidifier as the best. Within two days of having it working it has removed about 15 litres of water from the house and the damp smell has pretty much gone. We had been using a much smaller dehumidifier until it arrived which was very good but too small for the task.It is easy to set up & empty and has the added benefit of a hepa filter too. We can really feel and smell the difference around the house.It says it has a dedicated laundry setting which just means it runs on a timer for 6 hours.

I bought this to remove excess moisture from our 3/4 bed semi-detached house and to help dry clothes indoors. The laundry mode is very useful and defaults to 35% RH. When drying clothes it can collect 3-4 litres of water over several hours. Otherwise in 'standard' mode it defaults to 55%, but a wide range of settings are available . It's relatively quiet and I could probably sleep while it's running just outside the bedroom door, but not needed to run it continuously / overnight yet. I'm glad I bought the largest unit for sale as we have space on our landing, but despite it's weight and size it can easily be wheeled into the bathroom or another room. Taking downstairs would be harder but manageable.

Dehumidifiers make a huge positive difference to my arthritis and general lung health. We bought two, one for the upstairs where we sleep and this one for the drying room when we wash our clothes. Our metal Crittall windows can create a lot of condensation and hence mould, these great pieces of kit mitigate the problems associated with a high relative humidity. They are cheap to run and make the house very comfortable and cheaper to maintain at a healthy temperature / humidity even on those damp and miserable days.

Ha fatto una grande differenza. L’aria è più pulita e respirabile, la stanza è meno umida e durante l’inverno risulta decisamente più calda e confortevole. Inoltre l’ambiente è molto silenzioso.
