Great sump dome cover
Great sump dome cover! Glad I ordered it since I was initially on the fence. It is very well constructed in terms of material, so now I understand why it is priced the way it is. My sump pit was originally covered with a piece of wood that was sealed with silicon caulk, so I had no access to check on the pump. My pump ended up going out and I had a little bit of flooding in my basement. Luckily was able to catch it before spreading too far and decided I needed a way to access and test the pumps as well as maintain radon venting. This dome was the solution. My pit was not standard, a little over 16 inches in diameter, but this cover fit well over it. I was able to get a 1-1/2 inch pipe through the pre-cut hold for the sump pumps to drain out and a 3 inch screw on fitting for the radon pipe. There is a provided rubber sealing piece for the sump drain pipe, but I was not able to get it to fit in the hole with the pipe. Maybe you have to drill a slightly larger hole, but I just used some clear silicon caulk to seal it. I had to use some elbows on the radon pipe since the dome was a little taller than where my existing radon pipe was. I didn't want to drill into the sides of the dome since I feel like it would be easier to service or take apart from the lid cover. I then used a hole saw to drill a 2 inch hole for the rubber wire insert that is provided. Since I put in 2 pumps, I had to drill two holes in to the insert, but was easy enough to do. I still need to screw into my floor, but for now sealed all around with silicon. One Con: The plugs for the screw threads that the bolts go into can fall out. I did have one fall out when I was putting the access side of the cover on, but luckily it didn't go into the pit. Be careful of this and maybe when I take the access cover off next time, I'll put some duct tape to hold the plugs in place a little better. I see the point of being able to swap them out, but they should secure better so you don't lose them in the pit.

Helped my radon issue
Bought this to cut down on my radon level. I had already bought a digital radon device and my radon level in my basement was running around 16. Following the instructions pretty carefully, after installation, my radon level is down to less than six. This is an excellent product! Very sturdy, and gives me peace of mind.

Missing Bolts
looks like good product. But none of the bolts to attach the lid to the base are not present. i understand i have to get the concrete screws. In other jackel one i purchased, the bolts were present.

Excellent Product
Product arrived very quickly and is exactly as described. Product is very sturdy, you can stand on it, and is very well made. Product installed easy and I have never drilled into concrete before. I have two sub-pumps in my finished basement and this one definitely took away the smell of the sub pump basin. I believe this will also eliminate any radon coming up from the basin however i will not know that until the tests are back, and I have just ordered the Safety Siren radon-detector that is highly rated on Amazon. I will order a second one of these for my other sub pump later this year. Highly recommended.

Good but had to drill out two holes
I wanted my 1-1/2 sump pump discharge PVC pipe to exit from the top. The existing two holes are a 3 inch threaded hole, which I plan to use for a radon vent pipe, and an unthreaded 2 inch hole. The rubber gasket that fits that hole is too small for a 1-1/2 PVC pipe - I needed a 2-1/4 inch hole, and enlarging a 2 inch hole to 2-1/4 inch is not easy. A hole saw needs a small hole for the pilot bit, so I had to place a scrap piece of wood inside the 2 inch hole so the pilot bit had something to drill into. But it worked out nicely. I then had to drill a 2 inch hole on the side, so I could bring the electrical connections from the side. Lots of work to get the setup the way I wanted, had to buy a 2-1/4 hole saw (I had a 2 inch one), but fortunately the design of this radon cover allows customization.

Nearly indestructable.
This thing is built like a tank! I wish I had gotten it sooner, even without knowing about my Radon problem which is ultimately why I purchased it. Definitely a bit of work to install, and will impede easy or quick access to your pump should you need, but if you're trying to reduce Radon levels or just need to protect your sump pit from kids, pets or the such this is great. My Radon levels were cut in half after installing this. I did read some reviews about the screw threading being a problem. I only installed half the screws (the holes don't go all the way through to the pit), and it's very tight. I worry that because my pump runs a LOT, I might need access and this will make it quicker for me to open it, plus should my repeated opening cause any of the plastic threads to wear out, I have extra holes I haven't yet used. Good luck :-)

Great concept, installation difficulty a fail
Purchased to replace an existing sump cover with a radon mitigation capable cover. Reviews on this were very good so I was very optimistic. The good ..... product very sturdy, fit over existing sump well very well. My concreted floor was level and the product base fit well. The foundation for this as a solution to radon mitigation is there. the bad ...... where it failed is the fragile and complicated connection hardware to attach (and permit re-opening and resealing) the covers to the base. Problems are with the attachment of the two halves of the cover to the base. Very difficult to fit the gasket in the proper position to permit the bolts to pass through (recommend pointed bolts which will slide/guide through the rubber gasket) and easily seat into the bottom nut. In addition, the nut on the underside of the covers will pop loose (and fall into the sump pit) if too much pressure is applied, (suggest molding the nuts into the base so they don't fall out) and fall into the sump pit which was full of cold water. Note that the manufacturer provides four additional nuts because they know this is a problem. Unfortunately if you have 10 of 12 bolts in and you have to decide if you want to reopen the cover to find and reinstall the two that fell in. Go fishing through a dark sump pit looking for black plastic nuts. Not sure the folks who designed this cover have actually installed one. Note that trying to install the two half covers took a significant amount of time, two of the nuts fell into the sump pit after spending 45 minutes trying to install the rest. Unfortunately so frustrated at this point, just caulked the two holes and put a bead of caulking around the entire cover. Hopefully the two nuts I dropped will not get ingested into my sump pump and damage it. This defeats the benefit of having a sump cover which you can periodically remove to check the existing sump pit. Totally failed in the intended purpose. Now I have a cover sealed with caulk (because I don't have bolts in all of them) and know that the inverted nuts are at high risk of dislodging and falling into the sump pit each time I need to remove them. Looks like I will be doing a bunch of caulking each time I need access. Promising potential, failure in execution. If you want to learn some new swear words, buy this product. Best yet, have the product engineers and support folks actually go into the field and observe a number of installers put these in. I am pretty handy and can tackle most home tasks. Fishing parts out of a wet sump pit is an experience they would remember and most likely inspire a different solution. With regrets!

Does what it needs to do...
Used this to seal a sump pump pit that had a nasty smell coming from it. Once I got the new pump installed and re-piped, and sealed all the wire entry points, this has eliminated the odor completely. It's very nice to be able to open the larger half of the cover to inspect the pump when needed. The cover is very sturdy, and has a 3" threaded opening on the stationary side of the top in case you want to add a radon mitigation system to your sump pit. I actually did a radon test with the cover off, and had no problem with that, so I just screwed a 3" pvc pipe plug into it. What a great improvement, and it looks great too...

Radon dome
I haven't installed it yet but it looks like it's made very well. Solid construction. The only issue I have is the plastic bag that had everything in it (which was in a box) had a hole in it and a couple of screws and washers fell out and they're missing. Also the vent hole where you screw in a piece of pvc to vent out the radon gas has a crack in it. For me I don't think this will be too much of an issue.... I hope.
