Purchased for the stray cats that I care for... they have access to my unheated garage so I figured this would be a great idea to help keep cats warm .... they sure do love them tho...they don't even run when I come in garage now cuz there warm n comfy... I also put one on my porch for when others come to eat to help keep warm while they eat... they are thin but they sure do the trick!!! I would recommend... I will hand wash in spring

I'm using this for myself - I have no pets but on these cold nights sitting on one on my sofa is a warmth that penetrates so that I am so relaxed I have to keep myself from dozing in the middle of my favorite TV show and then when I do hit the bed I put it under the extra quilt at the foot of my bed and it keeps my feet cozy and warm again allowing me a great night's sleep - purchased a second one to use on my head when I sleep which keeps the cold draft off my head - these are great and any pet if they could would be smiling in their sleep they are so penetrating warm I'm sure reflecting back the warmth from our own bodies.

Update; November 4, 2023. The night after posting the original review the cats were sleeping on tge pad. So i guess they like it. I forget to mention in my original post that the pad is very thin. The pics make it look thicker then it really is.So, there are about 10 feral cats that are basically my pets. I feed them they want love all the time and they sit with me when I'm outside. They are not indoor cats in any way. So, I have an old beach towel that I put in the outside door way for them to lay on. Every night at least four of them a huddled and curled up on it sleeping. It's getting cold so I saw this pad and decided to buy it for them. They laid on it once and that was it. The pad has been there and they will not lay on it. I don't know why but they won't. Returning it.

Purchased for weiner dog, great size for small dog. She loves to be warm so she was very happy laying on this in front of the fireplace. It seemed to give her some extra warmth but was still safe and didn’t get too warm. Certainly not as warm as a heating pad but overall worked true to it’s description. It’s also soft and comfortable for her.

Is this self heating? I sat on it bare-legged and felt nothing. Just a thin mat. Very thin. I was expecting something like the effect of hot hands. My little guy has blankets and a coat while he’s in his dog house, but this sounded like a must-have for cold days outdoors. Not seeing a value for the money. I’ll just stuff a hot hands under his blankets.
