We're really evolving into a "carry solutions" company. Our mission is rooted in a military "light infantry" mentality. The light infantry have to pack light and travel fast to the front (and behind enemy) lines. It's important to be prepared, but to also have the freedom of movement that allows an individual to react (or be proactive) at a moments notice. Man-PACK's mission is pretty simple. We make stylish, durable, utilitarian, and affordable bags for people. All in an effort to help them be prepared. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Preparedness for EveryoneHow did you come up with the idea for this product? While on a construction site in 2005, a salesman gave Aaron a small sling bag. Aaron started using the bag and broke it in short order. Aaron went back to that cabinet salesman five times for new bags before deciding to buy something better. Aaron found that carrying a bag made him more efficient and better prepared. But after shopping around, Aaron found that there were no options for "the average guy." So, being a builder, Aaron decided to design and manufacture his own EDC bag. It needed to be durable, stylish, utilitarian, and affordable... and it needed a cool name. Hence, the concept of Man-PACK was born! What makes your product special? Some people say that a picture says a thousand words... Trying on a Man-PACK says ten thousand words. The fit of our bags are unique and the design is intelligently simple. We add features, but not too many. We focus on the style, the fit, and the function here at Man-PACK. You'll find our designs are superior to our larger competitors. That's because we lack bureaucracy and listen directly to our customers who tell us what they want. (We also have some PRETTY good designers ;) Plus, we can offer you higher quality and better design at a lower price because we have lower costs of operation. We keep things simple and our customers WIN.What has been the best part of your startup experience? The best part of our start up experience has been the personal emails and phone calls from our customers and supporters explaining how the Man-PACK has made them more prepared. We've heard from new dads, diabetics, disabled veterans, students, blue collar working men, and the list goes on. It's really neat and very rewarding to hear how so many different people with so many different lifestyles find different uses for the Man-PACK design. We've also had 2 successful kickstarter campaigns and an appearance on ABC's "Shark Tank." This entire experience has left us feeling blessed and fulfilled in so many ways. Carpe Diem!

Initially disappointed but confidence restored!!!!
See Update at the end of the review to get the whole picture! Very Positive INFO!!!I checked this bag out extensively before purchasing and looked long and hard before settling on this one. I bought it Nov 2018 and didn’t really start using it until JANUARY 31 2019. In less than a month of true use the magnet that fastens the outer pocket came out of its place due to stitching. Three days later the metal clasp lost a screw and is now loose! I’m praying the one holds until I can find another screw. I REALLY REALLY REALLY love this bag but the quality stitching in the fastener department is seriously lacking and... by the way. I can’t return because it’s out of its return window. I will write a positive review if I hear from the manufacturer and resolve these issues!I was able to find the phone number for ManPack which I called the same day of the above review. The call was answered by Aaron who is the owner and I was given instruction for sending the bag back for a complete going over and necessary repairs! I was blown away by his genuine concern and kindness! All in all... If a company stands behind a product that means the world to me! Thanks ManPack! Confidence Restored!

Great overall bag.
I have had my Man-PACK for a year now and I have used it a lot. It has been an airline carry-on, my day pack for a trip to Europe and NYC, my weekend trip bag, and even just a day-to-day bag to carry things I bring with me everywhere, including my iPad (love the back hidden pocket for that). It is durable and has held up extremely well. The fabric still looks new. Definitely when you get it it is a bit "crushed", but it unwrinkles after using for a couple of days. I thought about getting a second one, but realized the one I have is still going strong so no need! I would buy this again; I'm very pleased with this product. Also, I have a few different bags and this is the one that my kids don't refer to as a man-purse (while I use those times as teaching moments to correct them to "satchel", it is nice to use this bag on those days where I don't feel like keeping up the fight on the naming convention of whatever bag I choose to haul around my iPad and other daily needs of the modern busy professional dad).My favorite features:LightweightDurable fabricGood practical design (not too many pockets, not too big but you can really load it up when you need to)Cell pocket (I tend to use it for my sunglasses instead of cell phone).

Man-PACK Classic 2.0, OK, but I'll wait for Classic 5.0.
Wore the Classic 2.0 once and am returning it. It's a good attempt, but not good enough to replace my vest or a simple bag.Cons:1) Needs more pockets in the main compartment. Three dinky pockets doesn't cut it. My Levis 501 jeans have more and bigger pockets.2) Pockets need to be deeper. There's nothing bad about deeper pockets and everything good about them.3) The main big flap is useless. If the main zipper opens, it won't prevent stuff from dribbling out. The flap might slow-down a thief once a month, but it slows me down ten times a day. If I kept the bag, my first customization would be slicing the main flap off with a knife.4) The outside pocket obscures access to the outside pen pockets when sliding the bag to chest. Pen pockets should be above the outside pocket.5) Doesn't naturally stand-up unless the main pocket is loaded with material that naturally stands-up. I guess this is kinda obvious, but I saw a video review that touted how well it stands-up on a table and was mistakenly impressed.6) Need to take it off/on when entering/leaving a car. Not terrible, but considering it has no grab handle and a floppy shoulder strap it's awkward getting in/out of a car.7) Needs small simple carry handle.Pros:1) Zippers are easy to find, work smoothly and have good pulls.2) The marketing tag was attached with nice re-usable flexible metal key ring, instead of a piece of plastic to cut-off . A nice touch.

A nice bag, perfect for the urban commuting professional.
It's a nice bag for the urban commuter and exactly what I was looking for. Let's be real, no bag is for everyone. For me, I work in IT and commute around Seattle by bus, walking, or riding my OneWheel. I used to carry my daily items (which usually consist of a small notebook, a pen or two, OneWheel charger, some snacks, and sometimes my work laptop) in my Oakley backpack that I've had for more than 5 years and for me as a commuter it was becoming too cumbersome. I was watching reruns of Shark Tank and liked the look and functionality of this bag so I decided to give it a try...and I'm very glad I did. This bag is perfect for the urban commuter that needs to carry daily essentials and wants a stylish, functional, and comfortable bag. It even stays in place when I'm shredding the streets on my OneWheel! I also recently used it as my carry on bag for a trip to Thailand and I put in a HP Elitebook, charger, notepad, keys, a couple different phone wall chargers, power brick, a change of clothes and some snacks in this bag for the 19 hour flight and everything fit fine....tight but fine. I'm sure this is not a good bag for a student carrying big binders and lots of things for school, but for professional commuters carrying work necessities, it's perfect. I am 5'8" and I have plenty of extra room on the strap to make it longer if I needed too. On another side note, the material is not near as shiny as the picture shows, which is very good because the shiny-ness in the picture looks tacky. It's a nice flat black color. I also haven't noticed the material being too scratchy like some posters talked about, but I always wear a shirt when using the bag and never rub it on my face so maybe I'm doing it wrong???
