Very good quality butter, I like how it's not too hard and easily melts in hands to apply

I ordered both the aloe vera and kokum butters. It's currently the height of summer so I don't know if the hot weather affected both butters but they arrived as a thick, creamy, waxy butter. Kokum is usually hard like cocoa and mango butters. I'm not sure if what carrier butter was used for the aloe vera product. It's been 24 hours and both are still smooth and like a thick, waxy cream. They both feel amazing going on and neither have much of a scent. I'm so happy with both products. Neither are oily like shea and cocoa butters which leave a high shine and tend to get on everything. Because of an autoimmune disorder I am extremely sensitive to products with a lot of chemical ingredients in them. I mostly rely on single ingredient butters as moisturizers. The butter I received do not bother my sensitive skin, even on my face. Absolutely in love. The only downside, which makes this a 4.5 star rating was the packaging. They were in a metal style envelope and with the heat, they were very messy when I moved the butters into containers. I will absolutely be purchasing again from this company.

Use it to make body butter

I purchased this kokum butter specifically for making shampoo bars and other cosmetic formulations because it was advertised as 100% pure, unrefined kokum butter. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. I already own kokum butter from another supplier, so I compared the two side by side. Both butters sat at the same room temperature. As shown in my photo, the other kokum butter remains firm and solid, while this Yajna butter is so soft that I can easily press my finger deep into it. The texture is what concerns me most. Instead of being firm and waxy, this butter feels rich and oily, and in my experience it is actually softer than shea butter. That is not what I expected from kokum butter. Because I formulate shampoo bars, the hardness and consistency of the butter are critical to the final product, and this butter behaves very differently from the kokum butter I've used successfully in the past. I'm not claiming this product isn't kokum butter, but based on its texture, consistency, and side-by-side comparison with another kokum butter stored under identical conditions, I don't feel confident that it has the properties I expect from pure kokum butter. Because of that, I won't be using it. If you're buying it as a general skin moisturizer, your experience may be different. However, if you're purchasing it specifically for cosmetic formulation where ingredient consistency matters, I would recommend comparing it carefully before using it in a recipe.

THIS KOKUM BITTER IS MESSING UP MY PRODUCTS!!! It is making it clumpy and not able to sell!! I have to throw out!!! What is this? I tried this one because the brand I use was sold out!! I WILL NOT BUY THIS AGAIN!!! Not pure!!
