I was told that it's not genuine leather but it is a REALLY good substitute. Yes, the carry pocket is a BIT small, but I was carrying a sig sauer p938 PLUS 2 spare mags in the pocket and it all fit fine. Also, the pocket is padded and soft so the gun is protected. In addition to that pocket there's tons of space to carry anything you'd need inside the 2 main compartments. I carry a full water bottle, a huge wallet, cell phone, keys, sunglasses, and a bunch of other stuff IN JUST THE FRONT HALF of the purse, and I'd still have room for more stuff if I needed it. This purse is great. I have only had it a couple of weeks and I know it's not going to hold up. Especially as a carry bag.
