Okay, I don't use these for nails. I'm sorry ladies, I can't help you on that. But, I can give you an idea of the quality of this item and how it sands and polishes. I am a vintage watch collector and watches of that era were acrylic. They can be easily scratched over a lifetime of use. One of the best things about acrylic watches is they can be sanded to take out the scratches and polish them. Well, I can tell you the 1000 grit side of these will sand light scratches very well. The 4000 grit side will buff it afterwards so it has a very smooth, shiny surface. As a final step, I use Polywatch to give them extra polish. These are easy to hold, easy to use. They're rigid enough to get the most out of the entire length of the file, but still have a little flex in them. This is a good product that should work for any number of sand/buff chores - from nails to watches!

These ended up working really well for both natural nails and press-ons. The grit feels effective without being overly rough, so they shape and smooth nails nicely without damaging them. I also liked that they felt sturdier than a lot of cheap nail files that bend or wear down almost immediately. These held up well even with regular use. The pack comes with a good amount too, which makes it nice for keeping extras at home, in a purse, desk, or makeup bag. They’re simple but reliable and work well for shaping, smoothing edges, and prepping nails before applying press-ons or polish. Overall, these are a really good value if you do your nails at home regularly.

Easy to use and very fast at polishing and smoothing out nails. However the buffer doesn't last very long and need to switch to a new spot. Still I recommend this product, just wish the longevity is a little better.

If you came here looking for sanding sticks for plastic models (namely Gundam) look no further. These are perfect. 1000 on one side 4000 on the other - foam between (1/4 inch thick - approx 5mm). Nice and easy to do curved parts. Can't beat these at the price!

Great value, great product

There are 20 in this pack, and they are very fine on one side and buff on the other, so they are exactly what I needed/wanted. These are not bow shaped, so there's not as much surface space as I'm used to , but this is a good value so I will give 5 stars. These are easy to thrash, so if you have sharp tips, keep them off these or they will gouge your files and make them useless quickly.

They don’t hold these grit for long and if you add any liquid to the surface to increase the friction the grains all melt off the board. The foam polishing side also melted as I was buffing from the friction. They’re single use boards for nails or other crafting projects

Combination 1000/4000 grit is perfect for smoothing out and polishing to tops of my nails. I love these.
