I took my time, waited until I had put it through its paces and only then did I decide to write this review. Over the years I’ve owned a lot of irons and none of them have been particularly good. They’ve all done their job, but that’s about it. This Rowenta, however is a standout. It’s on the heavy side definitely but the weight is there for a reason. When you press down on something, you don’t need to use your body to make a crease, or flatten the surface. When you push the steam button, it’s not a little puff steam, it’s a big big cloud of steam like you’d see from a commercial steam press. On top of that, the iron face itself is not fancy no stick surfaces. It doesn’t need that! It’s designed for real work on the ironing board. It holds heat, does its job, does it properly, and doesn’t let you down at any time in the process. It has a long cord that won’t run short when you need length. It holds enough water to keep you going through a lot of clothing, and it’s got settings from delicate all the way up through linen. From what I’ve experienced so far each setting is accurate. It even has a silk setting! I’m two months short of 69 years old and I’ve been ironing my own clothing since I went into the army when I was 18 years old. If you’re looking for an iron that is going to last for years to come, do everything you wanted to do, and never let you down. This is the one you want. And by the way, if you’re curious where Rowanta is made, it’s a German company. You’re paying for the best iron made. I highly recommend this, I use it every week and they expect to be using this iron to be passed on to my kids! Yes… it’s really that good.

If you haven’t owned a Rowenta iron, then you owe it to yourself to get one. I’ve owned three over the last decade and they almost make ironing enjoyable. My other Rowenta got dropped after 5-6 years and didn’t make it. Which is totally understandable considering it was a 3 foot drop onto concrete. 😲 You certainly won’t want to use an inferior iron after this one. Somehow, they manage to steam evenly and also have enough weight to press most wrinkles out easily. It has a retractable cord, which makes it easy to stow. Definitely a huge leap above your average iron. Heats up fast too.

Greatest iron I have ever owned! No dripping or bursts of steam. Large water capacity, smooth ironing, heats quickly, not too heavy, and I love the retractable cord!! As a frequent sewer and quilter, a good iron is a MUST. I’m tired of irons that burn out after a short time.

Where it falls short is the build quality. At 3/5 stars, it feels lighter and less durable than expected. The temperature control system could also use an upgrade — a more refined, dual-control dial with a premium tactile feel would elevate the entire user experience. Bottom line: If you're looking for an iron that performs well on garments and looks good doing it, this is a solid buy. With a few build and control refinements, this could easily be a five-star product.

Very pleased with this iron: easy settings, good handling, good steam output. Doesn't warm up the handle if you need to do a long ironing session. Great product.

This is the best iron I have ever had. As a sewer (one who sews, not something that carries waste) I need something versatile. This is it. I have had no problem with leakage. The pointed tip is a godsend for ironing even clipped seams. The retractable cord is wonderful since I leave my iron out when not in service and my cat loves cords! At first I thought the weight was a drawback but it proved to be an advantage, especially when removing creases in fabric from folds. I could go on and rave about the blessing of having so many steam holes, but I think I've made my point.

I am way beyond dissatisfied with this purchase. I have purchased many Rowenta irons in the past with amazing satisfaction,. However, I purchased my latest one in March 2026 and as of now, July 2026, I am having to go through hoops to have it repaired. The water well leaks from multiple locations and the turn dial does not function properly. This leaves my clothes and ironing board soaked. Since it is still covered by the manufacturers warranty, the protection plan I bought for it will not kick in until the manufacturer warranty expires. I am having to go through all kinds of steps to have it repaired. The repair time is also expected to take over 4 weeks. Therefore, I will have to purchase an additional iron because I cannot ignore ironing for 4 weeks. I do not recommend this iron. The only reason for a 1 star is because it still turns on, at least that's something.

I’m have been ironing for over 50 years. This is the best I’ve ever used. Not that it is a fun task but this high quality iron makes it a whole lot easier. Be sure to use distilled water to keep you iron clean.

Made in China. Although I searched Amazon for Rowentha made in Germany and it did return this model and although other info on the internet indicated that this high end model was still manufactured in Germany, it is manufactured in China. It does the work but definitely not as good with steam as my previous iron.

Don't order it if you live on the Continent. Voltage not suitable and complicated to get a refund.

This is a fairly good iron. I thought it would be heavier, so that it would iron the more difficult sheets etc.
