## Description

Genuine Poushali NEGIN Saffron, Persian Saffron from Slofoodgroup is the finest Saffron that is the most expensive spice in the world. Organic cultivation and saffron harvesting, fresh, fast and free shipping. Our Saffron yarn is a red red red filament for rich colors that both professional chefs and home dishes are looking for due to its taste and color characteristics. It is important to add saffron before going to cooking. You pour saffron directly into the plate and release the flavor with a warm liquid. To add to your favorite recipe, try using saffron "tea" with water, soup, or wine. Some recipes are lightly baked in a pan (do not bake carefully), so we recommend grinding before adding to the dish. We think there are many ways to use your saffron, so cook as you like. We appreciate your business, but remember our customers here to not only provide excellent products but also provide excellent service. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: How are they packaged?**
A: Hi Janetta thank you for your question. 1 gram is packaged in small glass vials and anything larger than 1 gram of saffron is packaged in food grade metal tins.

**Q: My recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon saffron. How many teaspoons are in 1 gram?**
A: I just found this too: One teaspoon of saffron threads is equivalent to approximately 1/8 teaspoon ground saffron. 1 gram of threads = approx 12 threads = 2 teaspoons of threads = 1 teaspoon crumbled = 1/2 teaspoon powdered Either way, I would carefully add one or two strings at a time. They also say you should soak it first in warm water to get the full flavor of it. All I know is that I went by the recipe and it was WAAAAAY TOO much. Good luck

**Q: Is this organic and where was it harvested?**
A: I have no way of verifying that it is organic, but the seller, SloFood Group is a reliable company and I believe their claim about that. The same goes for their claim of its origin- they say it's Persian (from Iran) and I believe them. Most of the world's saffron is produced in Iran, probably because it's better. This product is definitely fresher and works better in my recipes, so I'll continue to use and enjoy it.

**Q: Is this product approved by the FDA?**
A: Hi Alex, thanks for your question. We do apologize but we do not clearly understand your question. The FDA does not approve or provided approval for food products. This listing is for saffron a culinary spice. The FDA plays no role in its approval. This being noted any food product being imported into the United States needs clearance from both Us customs and the FDA in which all documents and lab tests are submitted.
