Ok, so my project was for my 2 super-creative & talented Nephews. They're 28yo now, but were (harshly) forbidden from doing art when they were children (don't ask smh..), and they never went back to it when they grew up.So this project was to "Purchase, decorate & personalize a big 45 gallon tote" for them, which I then filled with hundreds of dollars worth of various (art supplies & selection of several "How to Draw") books for them. So you can see that - for me - this project had to come out PERFECT.... NO MISTAKES!!! (Sorry about the foot in the pic lol, I just wanted to give reference as to how BIG this crate and the gold-letters are. :)Well, I knew I wanted shiny gold font on the tote but I have NEVER used this technique before, so I was really not sure which brands to buy or avoid. This one had good reviews, but what I liked most was that it came in a protective case. So I purchased it... it arrived fast and the case was nice very sturdy plastic, and snaps locked to protect the sheets perfectly. The gold foil comes with tissue between each sheet... NICE!! I found a cool Japanese-style script font and typed my message out using the font, then tried to duplicate it freehand onto the tote-lid with a fan-brush. I was SUPER NERVOUS about this part, because - again - You really can't make mistakes with this stuff... trying to clean up mistakes made with glue just makes it worse, but I felt like I'd gotten it as close to the font as I was going to get with it. I let the glue dry for awhile, then places my sheets down LIBERALLY for full coverage. Remember - no 2nd chances - not if you want it CLEAN!!Let me say here - Be sure to pick the foil up ((WITH THE TISSUE)), because I was SHOCKED at how DELICATE & THIN the gold sheets are. I mean, just picking them up can make them break, and if you have a fan on they WILL blow across the room INSTANTLY!!! I don't know if ALL gold-leaf sheets are like this, but you have to be VERYYYY CAREFULLL & GENTLE with these, however it's far easier if you use the included tissue as a support. Also be careful laying them on the glue, because you WILL NOT get a 2nd chance to readjust. Once they're on - IT'S ON - PERIOD!! If you try to lift it, it will just break and make a whole mess!! I thought you could lay the sheets down and peel them up and BOOM - there's my nice shiny gold art. NOPE - NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!! lol... If you try to peel them, and they just fall apart.I wasted almost 30-45min trying to peel this mess apart but the sheets just broke & tore, which made it IMPOSSIBLE to get the gold out of the little small open spaces between letters. Gold flakes were ALLL OVER THE PLACE - stuck to my fingers & hands, all over the floor... Whew - I was in a jam! I had no idea how I was going to get my design excised from all the remaining gold leaf. I couldn't even SEE any of my designs because they were still covered by remaining sheets that I couldn't peel, AND... the leaf was static-clinging to the plastic lid.But then I realized 🤔 that by now the glue was COMPLETELY dry, and the fragility of the foil was to my advantage. So I had the idea to use a clean & dry ((SOFT)) paint brush to (gently but vigorously) "scrub" over the gold mess on my art, and the excess foil just FLEW off, without damaging the remaining gold and OMG..... it revealed my art BEAUTIFULLLLLLLYYYY!!!! 🤗 Even the tiny "unglued" spaces between letters became visible.The extreme-detail this material is capable of achieving ((BECAUSE)) of it's fragility... is INCREDIBLE!!I was EXTREMEEELLYYYYY happy with the results!! This stuff is so awesome, it even stuck to the little "flicks & slashes" I made with the glue just for decoration. ALL OF IT got covered in gold and HELD IT FIRMLY!!The gold is SOOOO FRIGGIN SHINY & REFLECTIVE, that I took a photo of it in the dark with ONLY THE LIGHT FROM MY COMPUTER MONITOR ACROSS THE ROOM reflecting off the letters. The letters shone like I had a flashlight on them just from that LITTLE bit of light.... but you can see from the photo, the room is VERY DARK, but the letters still SHINE --- I LOVE IT!! 😍😍😍I HIGHLY recommend these sheets, and only took off 1-star for "Ease of use" because there IS a learning curve to this, and these sheets are VERY unforgiving if you're rough, careless or sloppy with them. If you are CLEAN & SHARP with your glue-work, your gold will come out CLEAN & SHARP as well. I would DEFINITELY buy this again!!!PS - Apparently, because it is REAL GOLD (14kt as I understand it)-(?) - you need to be sure to spray a SEALING CLEAR NON-YELLOWING GLAZE over your work when you're done & 200% DRY, or your work WILL tarnish with age & fingerprints. I can't recommend a sealant spray yet because mine still hasn't arrived. It must be coming in from Australia or something! 🙄

Cost effective, looks great. For what I use this for it looks expensive.

This is a very, very inexpensive set of foil, and I see two uses for it.First, if you are just starting out in either burnishing or illumination then you are not going to be using real 24K gold foil to learn on. Second, if you are relatively experienced and do a lot of burnishing and illumination then this Paxcoo package is your friend.To be transparent, I have in the past used real gold leaf to do illumination, and, while it looks beautiful, the difference in the results are not worth the difference in price for the projects that I work on.Some of the other reviews talked about the product tearing or ripping or flaking. That is just the nature of metal leaf products. (There are some craft products where plastic, faux metal products come with plastic backing or adhesive backing. Those will be better for some, but you simply cannot get the level of precision that you get when you use real metal foil.)I like that the pack comes with a variety of metallic colors. This has allowed me to add two tones to some of my illumination work.All in all, I am personally very impressed with the Paxcoo product and will be ordering it again.
