Krups "Slice It" Electric Food Slicer

I first saw this being used by a lady in Germany, Bavaria to be exact. I took a photo and immediately went to order it upon returning home, but they no longer manufacture these by Krups, so I bought this used one. Seriously, I couldn't be happier. It came with the original box (now I know why I keep all my boxes) as well as the instructions and warranty (me too, I keep all my paperwork). I'm really happy with it.

It is nicely quiet, which I appreciated. It requires a little assembly the first time. When machine folded it takes very little space, but there are additional pieces to store( platform you put your meat to cut and another to hold meat and push it against knife.

I love the product because it is a very, very good product. I hade one that I had bought in "1992" and it just played so I wanted to get the same one with the hopes that it will last for the next 27 years

It works but if I could return it I would do so. I have gone to Germany the past 4 years on vacation and this is not like the slicers that I saw in Germany. It is flimsily made and not at all sturdy. The guard to prevent you from slicing your hand it plastic and doesn't attach to the slicer so you have to use one hand to hold it in place while you use the other hand to push the mechanism back and forth to do the actual slicing. This is very cumbersome. In my opinion you have to be more careful than the average person to avoid slicing hand or finger. Moreover although I purchased it as new, it does not appear to be new. The literature and instructions had stains on it. On the plus side it does slice cold cuts and cheese to a very thin thickness if you have the patience to use it safely. My wife and I would have been happy to pay another $100.00 for something that was more sturdy, safer and that hadn't been used by someone else. Joe Canino

WORKS WELL BUT ITS AN OLD VERSION

The best home slicer on the market. Easy to store, easy to clean and easy to use. I bake my own bread and use it frequently. My original was dropped and ruined. Thankfully, I found this one. Wish they made it today. This one was marked "used" and is brand new.

This does a really beautiful job of slicing roast beef or chicken breasts. I bought it so that I could make good use of larger roasts, by making sandwiches from the leftovers. I also could save money by not buying sliced beef at the deli. At first I was afraid I could not clean it well enough, but with patience I've been able to clean it well by hand and/or by putting some parts in the dishwasher. I use a salad plate behind the slicer, to catch the newly cut slices. When that gets full, I transfer the slices to another plate or bowl, then continue slicing. I like that this stores in a small space.. One picture has a slice of meat on a paper towel in an attempt to show the slice is not all that much thicker than the papertowel.
